I hate to say it, but Ralph actually doesn't look that bad. Not great. But not an abomination like her Steve or her Bravest Warriors designs. I think he's one of the very few characters in which her "style" kinda works.

I think because the ugliness is part of the charm of Ralph; he's built like a gorilla and is meant to not look very good but still retain some appeal.

The really sad thing is that if it wasn't for Vanellope's face being fucked up (to the point she looks like Truffles from Chowder), this would've actually been a decent picture because at least we know who the characters are this time around. Ralph indeed works better with her style, but it would've also been a matter of time before he was given the Rory treatment.

Probably because it's a lot more dynamic poses with clear lines of action and the drawings actually look like they're humans.

Just FYI, these figure drawings are gestures. They probably took them 30 seconds at the quickest and 3 minutes at the longest. Gestures don't train proportion, rather, they train you to get the "flow" of the human figure. Proportions come in to play during longer figure drawing sessions.

She's not doing a very good job with gestures, then, since they're all wavier than hair on a humid afternoon.

... IMO they're passable gestures -- but regardless, most things Rory draws look to have minimal effort attached. Where are the attempts to branch out of comfort zones? Most of the drawings we see from Rory are along the lines of somewhat unappealing fetish/exaggerated art.

And no good piece will erase that unchecked ego, either.
