Just joined in. Man reading through those 155 pages was a ride.

Rory, ah, Rory. It sucks seeing such potential in an artist only be squandered in a few months. I think we can all agree that Rory can do better. Hell, it's been proven that she has the technicality and skill to do better. On the topic of the whole art school thing, really, it's not their fault. It doesn't matter how much you try, if a person like Rory doesn't want to change, they aren't going to.

I think the main problem with Rory is her stupid pride. If Rory just took one step back and acknowledged what she created, then there wouldn't be a problem. I honestly wouldn't give a damn about her art if she didn't claim to be the best of everything. Like every other person on this planet, no one is perfect and for Rory to assume that just because she has a bit of skill, it means she suddenly Holier Than Thou is plainly pathetic. All she has to do is admit she's not progressive, wants to fuck her fetish porn, and that calling transgender people sluts makes her horny. That's it. But she won't. And I don't think she ever will at this rate.

Also, I noticed that every time she says anything she has to have the most condescending attitude about it. In her tweets she never says something normally. It always comes with this smug-My daddy (or mommy in this case) pays for everything-bullshit that I saw in middle school. How immature can you be?!

to be fair, she didn't get almost 160 pages on here just for making shitty art alone the real interesting bit about her is how she likes to parade her blatantly offensive fetish art as progressiveness and how she's also a rude ass bratty lil bitch that never seems to change or improve

The other part of it is that Rory's art is typically followed up with a commentary along the lines of "THIS IS THE GREATEST SHIT EVER I'M DEFINITELY THE BEST IN MY CLASS I'M AT CALARTS AND I'M GONNA GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE BEST ARTIST EVER WHILE THE REST OF YOU FUCKING PLEBS CAN'T EVEN HOLD A PENCIL" so you just instinctively want to tear everything she makes at least three new assholes.

As we saw time and time again, there's nothing more than these people love than eating their own. Rcd promoted herself as another super liberal, and gets hated way too much for what is the equivalent of a futa fetish, while futa artists in tumblr are always left alone.

Redkatherinee is an interesting case, tho. Very different from pleb and shad who are typical middle-ground liberals who like to 'provoke' for atention, she is an actual radical and uses her art to express her radical position openly. Fans of pleb/shad/rcd can just go "it's just satire/it's just a picture" and be of any political sprectrum, but fans of Red have to be actual radfems.

I don't wanna get into the whole Redkatherinee thing too much because it's complicated and this isn't the place to discuss it, but at the very least she's open about her opinions and doesn't try to hide them in order to bump elbows with the more extreme side of Tumblr's SJ crowd. She's a radical feminist and she's not gonna deny it.

However, the way she portrays trans people is... eerily similar to Rory's art: exaggerating the features of trans people to the point where they look like hypermasculine or hyperfeminine caricatures (Redk drawing trans women with big chins and facial hair, and Rory drawing big tits and hips on trans men). The only difference is that one artist does it because they dislike trans people, and the other does it because they like trans people TOO much. The horseshoe theory at its finest.

just want to say that the rory thread seems to have slowed considerably now that public word is out, which is kind of weird considering that it's usually the opposite? from what i've seen, it's mostly a couple of kiwis posting a thread, then it gets popular enough, and then people start coming in to say their piece of mind. idk, maybe things have changed. plus, the radio silence from rory isn't helping either.

more importantly, i can't find rory's cursed twitter anymore. so maybe it's just me who isn't finding any new art from them.

A large portion of the character animation department is aware of Rory’s antics at this point. Many of us have discussed it multiple times and nobody wants to touch the situation with a 10 foot pole. From what I have heard, nobody has said anything to Rory yet, and probably has not for the past year because she is hard to deal with and is quite full of herself.

Things on campus are fine. The only actual incident I am at least aware of that has happened was the scrawling of “RACIST” on one of her film posters.
