Backing up a dogshit game that didn't deliver on half the shit they promised and just made it for edgy motherfuckers. Now said edgy motherfuckers turned on this game. The sponsor of this is irony.
Fuck off. I wanted a "somewhat tacticool SWAT 4" and we were close to fucking getting it. Quite apt for your name whose presence brings complete tiredness in every thread you shat on.

Close to getting it? Bull-fucking-shit, this game wasn't at any point of being close to SWAT4. All it was, was an obnoxious edge fest made for a bunch of /v/ type faggots.

EDIT: I watched this video and saw a VOID hiring ad near the end:
"Monetization Specialist"
"something something it's so amazing to see how far this game has come since early access"

Other than maps how. I supported this game in EA because they promised this was just the early framework of the game. The game plays exactly the fucking same except the AI is somehow worse than the EA AI. Infact in EA you could unlock unfinished weapons like the 9 banger and criminal weapons with a local mod and now you can't... So there's actually less content compared to that now lmfao.

Cut content and concepts being scrapped is normal in development even for AAA games. There was originally going to be a neo nazi faction, but got scrapped. There was going to be buyable assets like snipers, but that shit got scrapped.

A company's direction can change as they get bigger. I remember when Void was 11 guys in the late 2010s.

I don't like the recent changes, but I'm not going to shit on them completely because they cucked a tiny amount so the game could be released on consoles so they could make more money. I'm not going to shit on them because they did move the needle a tiny bit.

The school shooter level is still there, The levels involving busting pedos is still there, The pulse nightclub inspired level is still there, etc.

I don't like the direction they're going in, but I'm not going to say the money I spent wasn't worth it. I did play the game 3 full times over the years and did have fun.

Is the game alright on console/controller? I'm gonna watch some videos but might as well ask you guys. It's been on my "might be neat with a couple of buddies" list for a while now so I've never even tried it.

I pirated this game to try it out because the premise was interesting, but it quickly became apparent that this game had the same level of quality as every other simulator slop game.

and just made it for edgy motherfuckers
What a horrendously stupid take. Wanting a game that doesn't shy from showing the real horrific shit that cops actually see in their work doesn't make anyone interested in that initial promise an "edgy motherfucker". In a world of boring sanitized shit RoN promised a raw experience which is what got people invested. VOID's entire problem is not keeping that promise and needlessly censoring their game.

Yes, yes it does when each of your level is more edgy shit after another. SWAT4 had more a realistic approach to police shit than RoN, which again was made for edgy motherfuckers.

I would say the only real edgy levels were in the end besides the college shooting. At worst a lot of the normal levels have some "highlight" that is youtuber bait and really don't work if you keep playing half an hour afterwards looking for one person missing.

I wouldn't call a raid on barricaded militant, fanatic environmentalists any more realistic than the shit you see in RoN.
In fact reading over the mission summaries (I haven't SWAT 4 in like nearly a decade, so bear with me) I can draw a lot of connections between the originals and RoN's levels.
Red Library offices -> Mindjot (less so the content, more the setting i think are somewhat analagous)
Food wall -> Kawayu Beach (illegal firearms)
A-bomb -> Neon (this one in particular, I feel like A-bomb felt kinda held back by its engine.)
Children of Tarrone -> Valley of the Dolls (Dead children in the basement)
St. Micheals -> Relapse (terrorists in a medical center)
Old Granite hotel -> Sins of the Father (hotel)

Edit: accidentally hit post, whoops

I could go on, but I think you get the point. These aren't one-to-one, and that's not really my point im making here.
I legitimately wonder how many people who say that SWAT 4 is somehow "more realistic" have actually played this game they glaze so hard. it is common that I see people point out the locations of RoN's levels claiming to be "less realistic" or that "SWAT teams never see this much action", but it never made sense to me when a considerable amount of its levels are retreading its own ground. I feel like that would be pointed out by people more if they actually played the game.

As for the content of the levels, I guess there's a point to be made, but Neon, for example, is directly inspired by real life events, and it is clear to me that they are trying to pay respect to the reality of the incidents. A lot of people died those days, and that's just the reality of the situation. I don't understand how trying to be faithful to incidents like that in a game that is clearly trying to pay homage to police work can be brushed off as "edgy for the sake of it" when it clearly wants to highlight the horrific nature of the job.
And some are clearly here for the sake of the wider narrative with the MLO, but I wouldn't say thats any worse than SWAT 4 putting in a mission where a Terror cell raids a Biotech Research station to make a point about Biotechnology as a whole. (I liked that mission, FWIW.)

I'm not going to shit on the trailer too much because my point can be summarized by saying VOID has realized only outrage via including children in their trailers gets them sales and the other two DLCs are dog shit. A random thing I noticed is that the models and style feels a lot like that famous dead island 1 trailer

But Here is my Ready or Not DLC idea.

First since as said VOID only seems to be able to push units via outage depict a cop shooting an unarmed black man in the face in the trailer. This will probably earn a few news articles and upset both black people and blue lives matter people. The theme of this DLC would be rioters and corrupt cops.

Up the price to $25-30 and add some useful new features like interactions with the environment for example being able to cut the buildings power(pre-release promise) and some new enemy mechanics.

Some map ideas.
  • Police Station - A bunch of rioters attacked a police station during a protest. The protestors are gone but the rioters remain inside and are now armed.
  • Court House - Also rioters breaking in but this time your objective is to protect the cop in the trailer from being taken out by the rioters before standing trial.
  • Some hideout with a gang of corrupt cops - The city wants to placate the protestors so they try to do a crackdown on some cop gang but it goes wrong.
  • The battle for Target- Pretty self-explanatory
  • Apartments - Cops raid some Section 4 housing to arrest troublemakers at a previous protest.
Or just do something with the DLCs that isn't just a few maps a modder could have made and some new guns. Anything interesting please VOID.

I was surprised there was no final level in the police station, seemed to be a wasted location for a climax rather than opening a random crate.
I like the whole CIA/FBI analogues being evil but I don't like the idea that Judge is some glowie supersoldier. I liked the oil rig map in the last DLC but I bought a SWAT game not a fucking Navy SEAL game.

I disliked it. Feds Bad is one of the most overused plot element in American media, and rarely used to actual criticism, sticking to a safe "few rotten apples sole causes of crimes and drug epidemic".

Having the main character be a super soldier just ruins the immersion, instead becoming yet another boomer power fantasy.

I don't think I could consoom any media where the feds are made out to be the good guys. Maybe the X-Files but even then really Mulder and Scully weren't really on the side of the glowniggers.

I was expecting the judge to have just been brainwashed by the MLO. I do like the MKULTRA subplot. I think they could've just stuck with that instead of trying to explain every gameplay element with some lore reason, which I think is a bit rediculous.

So apparently they're gonna be releasing another DLC. Make your bets how much this gonna suck.
Upcoming DLC trailer
Did they really just gonna add gas attack scenario like old COD MW3 but it takes place in fictional Santa Monica Pier as one of new upcoming DLC mission? Guess they finally ran out their vacation money from selling out to console platforms.
