Real talk, how much time do we really have left? - America's funeral thread.

This.

You people who constantly worry about some fucking collapse of America are retarded and need to calm your tits and do a bit of history.

It’s not going to happen in your lifetime. Probably not in your children’s lifetime or their children’s.

You people who think America is some eternal empire are retarded, please familiarize yourself with history.

Every government collapses, no exceptions. It could happen in your lifetime. There's no reason to assume it will go on running for centuries.

Hopefully not long. Unfortunately, I think the country will still "last" for quite a while, a decade at least, and possibly out past beyond our lifetimes. The United States has a huge amount of institutional inertia built up, overcoming that will take a long time and a lot of consistent fuckups hitting the population. I don't think it's guaranteed that there will be some kind of "collapse" at all. We've already taken several steps towards becoming a banana republic recently, I don't necessarily see that we won't simply end up fully becoming one. As Latin America continues to pour across the border the US might just slowly transition into a proper third world country during the rest of the 21st century.

If there is some kind of definitive "collapse" it will probably be due to an economic catastrophe of unprecedented proportions. Even the Great Depression didn't bring down the government, it just got FDR elected and social security implemented and etc. So an economic crisis big enough to cause a proper regime change would have to truly be "the big one" where the national debt bubble finally pops somehow. I won't pretend to have any idea how, when, or even if that will happen.

I don't think you will be seeing any kind of collapse any time soon. The US inflation while bad is not really as bad as people make it out to be. People keep acting like its Weimar levels and it's not. We have similar levels of inflation in the past. The US is experiencing typical levels of inflation for a country that basically prints money. The dollar is still the worlds reserve currency, and I don't see that changing any time soon. 90% of the transactions that happen around the world are done in euros and dollars.

I have heard all the Boomer financial doom-splaining. Gas going up to $2 a gallon was going to be the end of the US economy then it was $3. When the debt reached a certain limit, it was supposed to be the end. Yet here we are with over 30 trillion in debt and things are not much different than they were 10-15 years ago. I have seen and heard all the doom-splaining. It's all amounted to nothing but BS.

If it does happen it won't be some big event. The US economy will collapse like an old car breaking down while on the road. The engine will give out and the car will just slowly drift to the side of the road and stop. I don't see it happening in the next 10-15 years.
