"Daddy Burgers"
Rounded out Ground Beef (enough to make a large hamburger)
Idaho or Russet Potatoes cut into wedges
White Onion sliced into rings
Salt and pepper
Sealed in aluminum foil and placed in the oven at 400 degrees fahrenheit for half an hour

The only meal my grandfather who passed away from cancer before I was born was known for making. Learned it from my aunt and grandmother, and will hopefully live forever on the Internet

Not really a recipe, but I like to pan fry day old tomato based pasta dishes in a little bit of butter. It's sort of like all’assassina as I give it a bit of crunch though it is mostly to wake of the flavors and change up a meal if you are like me and make a lot of something to plan out your weekly meals.

So you put everyting together like a burger and then put it in the foil or do you mash it all up (make the mash into patties) and then the foil?

Sound yummy!

You do the patty first, then the onions, then the potatoes. No mashing here
oh so you build the burger the wrap it in the foil, then cook it and then slide it between buns? I'm assuming the party, onions and potatoes are all being cooked together right? also any sauces you recommend? I'll make it this weekend in memory of your grandfather!

Some regular A1 is fine with it, and honestly you don't even need buns with it. Don't know why they called it "Daddy Burgers" when they did not put it between buns, but it was the late 80's-90's.
They are all cooked together, yes, though you should note patty size. Made some over mother's day and I made the patties a little too big so it took an hour instead of the 30 minutes.
