For the past few days I've been watching this very interesting developing story on r/Calgary regarding their ongoing issue with water main break. I gathered more interesting comments from multiple different threads.
TL;DR: big water pipe is fucked, workers got injured trying to repair it, emergency has been declared, as of now the local government estimates it will take another 3-5 weeks to fix it and encourages people to limit the use of water - as per one of the articles: "If our water usage continues to trend up and our water supply can't keep pace, our taps will run dry."
Very unusually, MOST redditors appear to be somewhat reasonable. They point out that since the hotels, Pepsi plant and breweries work as normal, and the world's largest outdoor rodeo event called Stampede (which attracted over 1.3 MILLION people last year) scheduled for the first half of July, has not been cancelled, so the situation cannot possibly be so dire, e.g.:

And if the following user is to be believed, the situation is absolutely fucked up and the government is messing up big time:

Now, for the funny part - there appears to be a certain group of predditors, who presumably used to outdo each other at the number of masks they worn during Covid and how many friends they alienated over them not being boooostered.
They now moved on to showing their perfect obedience and signal the 'i am doing my part' attitude by competing over how crusty their underwear got, how rarely they shower, and how they let the smell of piss permeate their households, e.g.:
Now, this reasonable user tried to point out how ridiculous is the expectation of him leaving the peepee unflushed in the current year. That sort of antisocial attitude is VERBOTTEN.

Lastly, it appears that the local population is already going crazy from the overwhelming stench of BO, peepee and poopoo in Calgary. Just 3-5 more weeks to go lol
