If you want to really deeply psychological analyze it, beauty is kind of tied in with symmetry, ie order, structure, and good, in opposition to what is ugly, chaotic, and evil, which is what these people are deep down inside, they are ugly or at least deeply ugly on the inside and they wish to destroy beauty out of jealously.

They're idiots on a rampage to smash and destroy whatever is not idiotic because the existence of it casts a bad light on them, therefore it must be destroyed so there's nothing to compare them to.
