We're in a bit of a covid wave. It's not invisible, the media's just too busy with other things to do much fear mongering about it. Plus between people being vaccinated, people having had covid, most of the dominant covid strains being less dangerous than earlier strains, and a couple medications having been identified as genuinely useful against covid; a covid wave isn't nearly as deadly as it was a year or two ago. It's one of those things where it sucks that it's happening, but we're at a point where it's more something that it's useful for your doctor to be aware of than it is for the general public to worry about.

In their world, anything that allows thoughts and discussion contrary to their views is an alt-right hellscape. So to them, since Reddit isn't proactively banning all WrongThink across the website and will actually resist calls to ban specific subreddits guilty of WrongThink, they're a hellscape dominated by said WrongThink.

Love how the person asking for proof got dowmvoted and talked down too and told if was just ~obvious~. I know redditors arw retarded by virtue of being redditors but it says a lot about current year how common this line of thinking is.

...Has this person never heard of male feminists molesting children? I'm no fan of republicans either, but I can't imagine how fucking myopic you have to be to believe that not a single person on your team, a political party consisting of half a fucking country has ever committed rape or murder.

No you see if someone on my team rapes a woman it's because they were never actually part of my team and are retroactively always a bad person (if white) or we need to have a conversation about systemic racism and the legacy of slavery in society (if black).

It's funny when it blows up in their faces though, admittedly.

Recently, there was a democrat that had an attempt on his life made by some looney. It was reported on reddit and immediately all the comments were "OMG THE REPUBLICANS ARE JUST KILLING US IN BROAD DAYLIGHT NOW!"

Then it turned out the would be assassin was a black, BLM supporter and that story got swept under the rug immediately.

Even funnier, there were big swathes of reddit that actually believed Juicey Smollets story lmao.
