reddit General

How does reddit still have a user base? It just seems like a miserable place where you can get banned if whatever mod didn’t take their SSRI’s that day.

It just seems like it became Twitter-lite with a cabal of users feeding their dopamine on reposting content and playing a zero sum game with updoots.
The thing is that if you're someone who wants a little more substance in what you do online, what options do you have? Vapid bullshit like Twitter or some other social media site won't do it, in a lot of cases these people don't know of any other place to go except Reddit.

Even if they knew about a place like KF they'd probably be intimidated or too used to needing to be factually and/or morally right about everything all the time to actually operate.

It's a sad state of affairs, but for the most part the internet is just a shitty place for producing anything at this point, even just thoughts and writing.

Laptop class. It's one of the few safe acceptable sites you can read at work.

Unfortunately, most of the really good comments were deleted before either reveddit or archive.ph could get them. rDrama managed to document a couple of them though, including this gem from u/rapemachine3000, which was actually so uniquely offensive that it was removed by Reddit's legal team:

Frankly, I'm shocked that Mr.rapemachine3000 would stoop so low.

Here we have the same people who ENDLESSLY cry about the right-wing "denying science" "not trusting the science" denying biology 101 sex differences. Women have bigger pelvis's to help them give birth. You learn this shit Freshman year of HS in America. 14 year old's know this.

What do these people think hormones even are?

Well, they sort of will. Into an 80 year old woman's. With severe osteoporosis. When you're 20 or so.

If dad were not a stupid degenerate redditor (but I repeat myself) himself, he would have just posted a pic of the dress on a hanger. What a maroon.

Hope you don’t mind me posting this old joke about Reddit from years back.
>sexism
>not transphobia

not accurate anymore tbh

In peak reddit fashion what the sub is a safe space for is pedos larping as little girls and sharing erotic fanfiction of children being raped to get off.
This is the same reddit that banned big chungus because it was too problematic.
Well, as long as a problematic sub is framed in a fetishistic way, it doesn't get banned, simple as. Take r/raceplay_ for example. At some point, I wonder if some power mod gets off to these subs and actively prevents them from getting taken down.

The kids are getting megadosed with propaganda online and at school, usually. The parents aren't total shit (as in abusive, neglectful, legally unfit, morally corrupt) just dumb normies who don't know that there's even a problem because they have naive, idiot trust in the System. From the post:

This is a textbook ROGD presentation from a kid who is getting held down face first in gay shit at school all day. The gay (using gay to stand in for every retarded microidentity they have now) kids get treated like special, holy people. The gay kids are popular. The gay kids rule the roost. The gay kids get away with bullying. And they get praised in assemblies for being brave heroic saints. The girl was having typical insecurities of her age (especially for a kid whose parents are foolish about media exposure and not emotionally available because muh dual careeeeeers) and was looking for an onramp into being a special, holy, gaymosexual. She literally just mashed every button on the console trying to find one that would work. Many, MANY such cases.
Surely though, if the parents are strong role models and actively spend time with the kids (as much as they can of course) its got to create some insulation, no? The idea that "my dad is my hero".

Both my parents were working but still tried to spend time with the family and in hindsight watching all these parenting trashfires today it makes me think I couldn't possibly thank them enough for it.

It can't really be normal for kids to look this much outside the family for approval and ignore parental advice this hard can it?

Lots of alts. I go through 5-6 reddit accounts a year. Mind you I'm not even particularily edgy (on reddit) nor do I actually go out of my way to break rules, but moderators are just insane.

For example, the league of legends mods will ban you without warning if you disagree with their favourite gay ships, even in as mild a way as "I don't think its that well writen".

I've lost 2-3 accounts over the years that way, but I've just come to accept the need to make alts once in a while as the cost of using the website in any meaningful capacity.

Well hold on- I said they are not bad (criminal, abusive, worse than average) but that doesn't make them good. They're mostly average, and the state of the average these days is fairly grim. People who grew up as 6 week old daycare drop-offs and later latchkey kids came into parenthood conditioned to think of most of the basic tasks of childrearing as something you pay some other shmuck to do for you. And at that, it's something paid shmucks can do better than you, and if you want your kids to "keep up" you have to farm them out from day one and leave not just their education but most of their enrichment and free time to someone "professional."

When we were kid, the paid professionals were old ladies named Betty and Dolores who didn't talk about their personal lives, if they even had any. Betty and Dolores retired 20 years ago and are in the process of dying. They've been replaced by Sharon the Boomer Administrator who is still litigating the arguments with her parents in 1968, and an army of green haired lesbi-enby-queermo defectives.

The people who use Reddit and aren't trannies or cucks are looking for an easy-access community for niche interests, for which I will argue Reddit is still mostly unmatched. I can go to Reddit and ask how to find a good nibmeister to fix the bent tines on my antique fountain pen and within 30 minutes have the contact info for 15 different nibmeisters with no online presence that I could otherwise search up. There are some other forums but they get a fraction of the traffic and you have to have a separate account for each one.

Ghostarchive because Wayback Machine is pozzed. This post is fucking hilarious, I'm surprised the comments are pointing out how much the OP fucked up (a tranny trying to talk to someone at night in the middle of the street then asking about chocolate milk as an "icebreaker" :story:), would have expected Preddit to validate the poor abused aspergers trans womans actions and tell him he did nothing wrong.

To be clear, a tranny, presumably wearing a dress from the linked comments while doing the falsetto tranny voice, to ask a woman if she likes chocolate milk, in the middle of a night, and is shocked said woman felt threatened.

Agree with this guy. If I had a gun on me, I wouldn't pull it, but I'd definitely reach for it just in case.

I feel like this the advent of smartphones and with how early children are now getting them it becomes nearly impossible to keep track what one's kids are viewing. My parents didn't know about the absurd, degenerate, and disgusting shit I saw on late 2000s Reddit and that was when I had to view it from a much more visible laptop screen and when Reddit was mostly euphoric edgy atheists. Now with the troon groomers and every kid being able to see this stuff in the back seat of their parents' car via their pocket how do you monitor it effectively? I don't have kids and am terrified to deal with this mess when I inevitably do.
