The thing is that if you're someone who wants a little more substance in what you do online, what options do you have? Vapid bullshit like Twitter or some other social media site won't do it, in a lot of cases these people don't know of any other place to go except Reddit.How does reddit still have a user base? It just seems like a miserable place where you can get banned if whatever mod didn’t take their SSRI’s that day.
It just seems like it became Twitter-lite with a cabal of users feeding their dopamine on reposting content and playing a zero sum game with updoots.
Even if they knew about a place like KF they'd probably be intimidated or too used to needing to be factually and/or morally right about everything all the time to actually operate.
It's a sad state of affairs, but for the most part the internet is just a shitty place for producing anything at this point, even just thoughts and writing.
