It's also easy to do with without buying an account. You just need aged 15-30 days accounts and cross-post "The Current Thing" reddit likes to circlejerk about. These days it's Ukraine propaganda and dunks on Musk/Tate.

reddit mods have no tools to find you out (other than account creation time) and redddit admins won't bother looking into your account unless you do stupid shit like upvoting from different accounts or spamming links to obscure sites.

I'm curious if anyone tried using ChatGPT bot to write reddit posts for them. Seems like a fantastic tool for text-only subs like relationships or askreddit.

We're handing out permabans over fucking AI art now? Did the software become a crime or something when I wasn't looking?

If you browse some of the videogame subreddits, particularly ones about MMOs, there are a few "artists" who make money doing commisions for people of their characters in the game.

These drawings are usually a bit shit and could be fairly easily done better by an AI so the redditors are reee-ing about the fact that a computer is essentially taking their job.

This is exactly like that one r/minecraft mod getting mad that the dude with the dead gf was karma farming her corpse. This r/art janny is mad that the person makes human made art and when told it is human made art his response is "well your art looks too much like an ai, change it or your ban won't be lifted." Literally getting mad that a bear shits in the woods :story:

You know something else AI could do better? Moderate reddit.

Quick tangent here, have we talked about Subreddit drama at length yet? Because I noticed that for all their "no pissing in the popcorn" rules that sub's primary purpose is brigading. Which is to be expected when a sub takes pictures of posts, links them and attracts hundreds of people with nothing better to do than laugh (read: seethe) at drama on reddit. Have you comitted wrong think and insulted something Reddit is supposed to love? Your thread is now forfeit. Does the poster being mocked have a conservative opinion? Wow, he must be a Trumper fascist! Let him have it

Ironically if you ever are banned for brigading, it's usually because whatever you said went against the hivemind.
/r/SubredditDrama got compromised by power mods a while back, partially from /r/ShitRedditSays (which shows how long ago it was). Wrongthink got banned and they also banned users who posted in certain subreddits.

That's part of the reason /r/Drama became a community and then got nuked by the admins (because they did the exact same thing as SubredditDrama, except with no jannies and wrongthink allowed).

IIRC the np.reddit.com (non participation) links were specifically set up to facilitate SubredditDrama and provide a justification why the powermod approved subreddit wasn't brigading.

Whenever immigration is brought up in the Canada subreddit the responses are so uniform and predictable that it's as if the people there are robots. They will always say something close to "I fully support immigration and immigrants, but we need more housing and infrastructure for them".
Sometimes there are entire comment reply chains all saying and replying that exact same thing:

I don't literally think these people are bots btw, it's just kind of weird how they've all been conditioned to speak the same.

I doubt any of these NPCs really even know why they're for immigration to begin with.

I wonder how much of it is deep seated jealousy from jannies? Mad that the minecraft guy had a loving relationship in their game, mad that the art guy had real skills. All while they are saddos who moderate a forum for free.

It's even worse. It's humans who have devoled into bots. They speak only the approved talking points and think only the approved thoughts. Any wrong think in the community and they will chase it out.

What's baffling to me is they're shooting themselves in the foot by admitting they do they not know how these AIs typically work. If someone was feeding his art to an AI, how on earth is that his fault?

Jannies have such a big ego, they won't admit they screwed up when they banned a guy who was possibly the victim of what they'd consider AI Art Theft. Similarly, there was a person on Twitter who was whinging about AI copying her art. If she went to that subreddit, would she get banned too? "Oh your abstract art was fed to an AI without your consent, that means your art is now AI art and we're banning you now!" These fucks are dumber than a rock.

Hey guys, just a heads-up, for all of the AI art drama on and off Reddit, we have an AI Art Seething General thread.

Personally, I want to know where I can try to spread that Grillcast powermod exposé video. I think it has potential to legitimately go viral.

at least two people on a discord i'm on used chatgpt and koboldAI to make bots for r/opioids and some of the gangstalking and plural system subs. those places are ideal because the average poster has such burned out brains that it's hard to tell them from a bot anyways.

I don’t think they’re all as pro-immigration as they think. It’s just the liberal song and dance you have to do so you don’t appear racist in front of your peers. Going through those replies they all proselytise their faith at the start then give very good reasons why immigration should be stopped or significantly reduced. But we all know our overlords would never allow for that. The wests’s birth rates are way below replacement and where else are we going to get poor people to scrub our toilets and work the graveyard shift at 7-Eleven. Those toilet scrubbers have children, they go to university and get decent paying jobs and don’t want to scrub toilets like their parents. So they bring in more poors to scrub the toilets of the children of toilet scrubbers and the circle of life continues.

The AI art sperging is very strange to me. Digital art has been a thing since the 2000s, and I guarantee many of the artists who have had their jimmies rustled use some sort of art program that helps them with line work, layering, etc. Mild PL, but I’m a hobby artist, I do everything from sketching, to line work, to coloring by hand. I’ve always felt that, while digital coloring can be beautiful, it doesn’t help you improve as much as physical media can. Even if you’re drawing same face anime, the use of markers and/or pencils makes your work so much more interesting than the countless digital pieces dumped onto DA or Pixiv. You really have to put in the effort to be unique with color theory and stylization if you’re going to go digital, but if you do, an AI isn’t going to be able to replicate your unique style anyway.

Hey I generally agree. If a country has no plan whatsoever for what immigrants are going to bring to the country and they can't support themselves, maybe they should stay where they are.

and my one key takeaway has been: if the vax messed you up, rona would have destroyed you.
Your heart is fucked and you’ll probably die in 5-10 years but imagine if you got Covid, it could have been much worse!

The three "To Catch a Redditer" videos in that channel are honestly some of the funniest shit I've listened to in a while.
