Btw, did he ever address that Reddit did make changes (allegedly) to make sure that 99% of all non-profit apps and third party tools that use Reddit can still do it for free?

The issue is they're treating 17k or whatever scant amount of people voting like it's some study for their dumbass research paper. Which of course redditors are pretending to be magic scientists.

This isn't about a sample size of the population, this is voting for a massive community happening that will effect the entire communal landscape, and if you can only get like 10% of voters to actually vote, then your proposal was so shit, or your community just doesn't trust you at all.

They have declared that despite the threats, they will continue the blackout protest. I'm not sure how you continue the protest if you lose your mod abilities and your subreddit gets reopened with new management, but there we go.
The mods are replying to this post with comments listing their subreddits to show they're co-signatories. Most of them are subreddits nobody has ever heard of.

You've heard Rossman say he's participating in the blackout, but have you wondered how? Well, at the two minute mark he reveals that he still uses Reddit completely, his way of protest is just refusing to mention their name. For someone very pro-blackout he folded faster than a teenage girl opens her legs at a sign of a $50 bill.

Given that he likes to expose hypocrisy, he shouldn't mind (You really should check out the full vid, like most of his content, it is actually good, I'm just poking fun at him)

The John Oliver bit is the most Epic Reddit thing ever. People are posting about him mentioning it on his show - that is currently not in production because of an actual strike from writers who get paid.

I noticed a mod from a sub I used to like that went off the rails (r/Hobbydrama) posting "scab" and yelling at people in different threads on Modcoord. It explains a lot.
