The solution these Jannys implemented was a final straw, better put a 'final solution'. This was an effort to simply deport certain troublemakers. Reddit doesn't even have enough chimney to perform a Jannycaust. Just saying.

havent been to the subreddit, but all the other linux discussion groups and pages ive been to haven't been a bunch of knowledgeable users, instead it is mostly just users arguing about which distro they like best and jerking off to how they currently have their desktop configured. the average poster on places like that isnt anymore knowledgeable on how to throw together a forum than your average reddit user is.
 
Like, does spez really think all this shit is gonna drive investors to buy their stock? This is shit that happens when a site is dying.

Spez should have just kept the site normal or reneged on the API pricing, for now. But like his name sake, he had to spaz out. Enjoying being king of a pile of ash Steve Huffman. Ask the digg guys how that turned out.

/r/linux is mostly composed of the worst kind of politically spergy FOSS autists, who know more about making garbage makework commits to a git project in order to clout-chase. Almost all of them are more interested in gimmicky shit than writing good code. Reddit hasn't been a place for proper software devs since the Obama AMA.

Most knowledgeable people get tired of shitty forums where there's 37 wrong answers all stickered or upvoted by the time they get there. Often the answer also isn't as simple as you could convey on Reddit, or they're just asking a stupid question or the wrong question.

"Hey, I tried to install XYZ and it said I needed a Rust compiler." "Here's how to install the Rust compiler......" When the actual answer was "apt install python3-pycryptography" because the python thing you asked pip to install was trying to compile it because none of the wheels available in PyPi supported your architecture.

Also Redditors won't pay my standard rate of $200/hr.
 
these past few days if you tried to google a tech question the first result would be a dead reddit link. I wonder how long search engines would let their top result be fucked up before reddit results get pushed down from top spot.

I have 5 alts already aged up to harass reddit mods and admins with pictures of orange cats just because they're buttholes who can't handle any banter. You can just refresh your vpn and open a different browser. There are simple scripts to just repost popular posts and get a small amount of karma to pass thresholds.
Stay mad if you want.

Jannies don't eat anything but Hot Pockets. They are probably stress-eating entire Costco-sized boxes of Hot Pockets while weeping inconsolably into their jizz sock.
 
When this all blows over I'll likely be rotating my user accounts, as Reddit doesn't let you change it and it's time for me to cycle to a new online identity.
Plus i've been banned from too many subs due to power tripping mods.

Linux to redditors is just an aesthetic thing for them. Most have no real technical aptitude or appreciation for the things it can do practically in a production environment. They care more for the silly whimsical projects that get them karma then anything that could be useful in situations like these.
