For example, Minnesota governor Tim Walz claimed that the violence in Minneapolis was actually the work of white supremacists:Did you guys know that the damage done during the George Floyd riots was all done by racist crackers invading diverse cities from other states (no point checking their license plates to see if that's true, they removed them all) and destroying things to make the protestors look bad?

Similar was being alleged in Wisconsin:
While I could imagine that eventually the story will be that the violence in summer 2020 was neo-Nazis attacking peaceful BLM protesters, too many people know what happened for it to be convincing. Beyond trial balloons such as those above I have rarely seen such claims made, not anymore. But it doesn't surprise me Redditors are still trying it.
