Reddit users have literally no idea what incels are which is incredibly ironic because the incel movement largely started on reddit.

Nowadays I see people saying utterly innocent things like "I'm lonely" or "I wish I had a girlfriend" get dogpiled and screamed at by hordes of weirdos calling them incels and wishing violent death upon them.

Desire for intimacy/a partner is literally one of the most common things normal people who aren't insane Communists think about.
 
Reddit users are like "yes i am involuntarily celibate but at least i am not an incel!"

All the subs dedicated to a-logging incels are full of projection and people who manage to look even sadder than the ones posting on incel sites.

Fascinating how the "TRUST THE SCIENCE!!!" "DON'T DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!!!" people are now doing "I heard a wildly anecdotal detail from a friend who was a subject of this one study about their research practices that I disagree with, so I think this study should now be completely thrown out." And their fellows reply with "Wow, I will take this 3rd hand anecdote of ambiguous import entirely at face value." Of course, they would never apply this level of scrutiny to any paper that showed they had less to fear...

But I really do feel sorry for them. They're clearly victims, hypochondriacs who were easy pickings for a massive propaganda campaign that was designed to prey on their precise fears. They weren't the ones who started it - that was the part of self-serving careerists for whom 'The Narrative' is absolute truth, even when it turns on a dime. By comparison, it is almost to these wackos' credit that, having swallowed one Official Line, they actually took them seriously enough to not just abandon them when a new Official Line came out.

They do seem to fall into two categories.

The super neurotic “HALP! NEED SUPPORT! Am at a doctors office and nobody is masking! Getting a panic attack!”-types, many of whom likely had some kind of “fibromyalgia” thing before.

And the cheerfully smug: “Everyone but me are just too dumb to understand THE RISK!” Types.

I’ll let you guess the genders represented in the two groups :)

Either way, it’s no way to live man. I’d feel sorry for many of them, if not for the fact that they often come across as determined to ensure that everyone around are as miserable as they are.

They let their fears rule, risking alienation from friends and family because of their paranoia and controlling nature.

And every news article reminding them that the rest of the world has moved on, is apparently a stroke waiting to happen.

Both reddit and facebook have done everything they can to run that term into the ground as an insult when it isn’t one because actual involuntary celibate people call themselves that.
 
I discovered a fascinating Reddit account today, this guy. He's a 22 year old dating a pooner with a seemingly endless list of mental illnesses, and the relationship seems to be emotionally abusive for both parties. He is the definition of oversharing, making almost daily posts on relationship advice subreddits about often very personal issues. These are all from within the past couple of days:

Even many of the other users of these subreddits have become fatigued with his frequent posts and now recommend for him to stop posting. You could fall down a rabbit hole reading this guy's posts, the more I read the more I can't look away.

I know they're cattle, but warehouse space is a thing, and cheap cloth masks will begin to rot in a cold dark warehouse. Same thing with excess vaccine doses. You kinda need to shed that. These people know Nothing of logistics

The issue with those people is instead of popping out 7-10 children like their Great Grandparents they instead had 1 single miracle baby that they are overprotective of.
