"Trans kids" are a sacred cow to the left now, so they aggressively push the absurdity and extremity of childhood transition wherever they can specifically to get you to threaten and/or actually do violence so they can say "look, the right openly wants to HURT CHILDREN" and it doesn't matter that we're talking about preventing people from chemically and surgically mutilating those same children.

If I had to take a guess, they're trying to distinguish between roguelikes (where you begin from scratch with each playthrough) and roguelites (which allow the unlocking of small upgrades for each playthrough). The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike: each character always starts the game with the exact same stats and items; Skul or Hades are roguelites, as you can increase your character's power between playthroughs (increased damage, higher health pool, different skills etc.).
