The two most annoying things about Reddit is that it swallowed up all the niche forums so if you need help with a specific thing you are going to usually need to go to Reddit, and the second most annoying thing is most users can't help you with your problem but reply anyway with stupid tangential shit that in no way helps you with your problem.

This is the only reason I have an account, but it isn't quite as bad as the Discord servers. All the old gaming forums I used to use are gone and replaced with either Reddit, Discord, or both. You better hope that there's a decently active reddit for what you want to talk about and not a Discord server instead, because otherwise you need to perform a 12 step process to input your pronouns, orientation, race, age, nationality, and also to show you read the server rules. I have to use these centralized services to access these stupid little fiefdoms and go through what legitimately feels like a more hellish process than going through customs just to say "Hey, I'm having an issue making sense of this mechanic, can someone explain it differently than the in game text did so I can maybe better understand it?" I completely gave up with stuff like handy work around the house, electronics, programming, etc since no one who can answer the question even try to do so on Reddit and somehow even if someone knowledgeable tries to answer my question then there's a good chance the automod will eat them instead.
