This is the only reason I have an account, but it isn't quite as bad as the Discord servers. All the old gaming forums I used to use are gone and replaced with either Reddit, Discord, or both. You better hope that there's a decently active reddit for what you want to talk about and not a Discord server instead, because otherwise you need to perform a 12 step process to input your pronouns, orientation, race, age, nationality, and also to show you read the server rules. I have to use these centralized services to access these stupid little fiefdoms and go through what legitimately feels like a more hellish process than going through customs just to say "Hey, I'm having an issue making sense of this mechanic, can someone explain it differently than the in game text did so I can maybe better understand it?"
