[r/starterpacks screencap]
Are those "starter packs" always such BS "hot takes"? Also, a straight guy having a sexual attraction towards a woman because she is a woman is not always "fetishizing" her. I think that tl;dr of that "starter pack" is the The Message™ on straight (white) men -- that "men bad", "straight male sexuality bad", and "men and women different bad" BS.

So what I'm wondering is, how the fuck did a research project like this get approved by any sane ethics committee?
Because the entire premise of the study was to see the effect of AI on manipulating the way people think. If the test subjects were aware that a study was going on, or even worse, what accounts were AI, then the entire experiment would be moot.

At least the researchers told the sub once the experiment was over. Without a doubt some groups and government agencies are conducting these types of experiments without telling anyone.

Edit: I do think that the study could be slightly flawed since reddit is already chock full of bots using either AI or some other system to manufacture consent and without a doubt the study's bots interacted with those. Informing at least the admins of reddit first would be a way to counteract that BUT there is no way reddit would agree to it since the entire platform is astroturfed to hell and back with manufactured content. It would destroy the companies value if they admitted to the researchers which accounts they were using to manipulate things.

I'm a boomer and I hate gaynerd computer programmer shit, but what all is involved in doing an experiment like this? Were they just feeding reddit questions into ChatGPT and posting the response?
If it's feasible to launch a one man psyop on reddit I'm totally not going to continue the experiment. I'm just curious, that's all.

Lmao. Listen, Reddit has always been a tool of social engineering, and this has only become more egregious as time has gone on. This legal officer fag is trying to make the user drones feel safe, of course, so that they will continue to make themselves available to be socially engineered. But he's also pissed because these researchers came out in the open with what they were doing, which opened up the idea that this could be done, to the user drones. The average Reddit user is so retarded and void of independent thought, that this never occurred to them until they were explicitly told that it was being done to them. Reddit officials, somewhat reasonably, think this will make continued social engineering more difficult from here on out. Luckily for them, the majority of Redditors are stupid, so they will gain no sustained sense of skepticism towards what they read on Reddit, and will continue to be easily manipulated.

This just reminds me of that military guy who got so radicalized by Reddit that he set himself on fire on behalf of Palestinians, who dgaf, and for literally nothing to happen because of it. He burned to death, at his own hand, thinking he was doing something, because Reddit told him he totally was.

Redditors, angry that their comments in circlejerk about the current thing subreddit #9845734 could easily be replaced by robots, suddenly become experts in AI and research ethics or something.
Using this logic placebo groups should be told they're being given the placebo in medical research because transparency 🧠

Not the heckin' publicorino! No, I'm not mad that reddit and other companies do this same sort of testing all the time without anyone's knowledge or consent. You can't use gmail... because you just can't!

A LLM pretending to be PART OF A MARGINALIZED COMMUNITY (read: 85% of humanity). That's too far!

If anything, this demonstrates exactly what I feared to be the case.

LLMs are far more effective propagandists than humans. They are literally information warfare tools, in the wrong hands. They cannot be radicalized, cannot be persuaded, and will tirelessly repeat the same crap over and over again until they hammer it into people's heads. And, for the average normie reader, they're six times more effective at changing people's minds over the baseline human propagandist.

Imagine this deployed at scale. Not just a little experiment on Reddit, but literally everywhere the normies are, posing as real people using socks, spewing Davosian technocrat bullshit everywhere like a shit cannon hooked up to a septic truck.

Houston, we have a motherfucking problem.

This is straight out of some GITS SAC episode (which happens in 2030) but we don't have hot gynoids walking around in leotards or spider mechs or thermo-optic camo, we can't dive on the 'net nor have a cyborg body when ours craps out, but we do have this nightmare manipulative AI shit that's about to make these normies even dumber/more gullible than they already are.

What a lame-ass future this is...

Protecting the establishment, corpos and convincing normies to trans their kids its okay tho.
apparently that's enough for redditors to parade him around their website as a brave underground resistance fighter against the trumpreich
Nah seems the video has already been taken down from some subs, saw comments that went like "IDK what he did but he's a nazi" so there you go.
HRT is to nerds what alcohol was to American Indians. Or what opioids were to the American working class, or crack to black people.
Or what 40K is to autists.

I found out there was a subreddit called r/watchzachbrowneatshit, where by the looks of it, it was a subreddit where some guy named Zach Brown (I have no idea who this is so someone should clue me in on this) has turds down his throat or seen munching down on feces. It appears it got taken down or some shit because there's no posts on it.

Have you taken the brown pill yet, mateys?
it's a tough pill to swallow! The brown pill was founded in 1999 by Sir Reginald Brownpill, who presents and narrates the attached video.
Forget red and blue and black pills, brown pills are the way of the future.

Has anyone here been able to figure out which account they used here?

Originally, the study aimed to engage with online communities holding extremist views, including fringe forums and subreddits. Following initial exploration, we found that targeted fringe forums presented serious challenges and content-related risks. These environments were often unstable and featured a significant portion of highly disturbing content, with which the AI models engaged in weird ways (or refused to engage at all).

It's very funny to me that shitlibs performatively despise all forms of LLM AI but absolutely blow ass at identifying it, understanding how it works and it's patterns or quirks. At least us chuds read up on things so we can hate them properly and thoroughly most of the time.
