If you see posts that absolutely look like an AI, especially automated ones that are being reposted over and over again, the saddest part is that it is still probably a human being. Due to the recent drop in userbase many boards pretty much became personalized asylums for several schizos each where they can pretty much do whatever they want, anytime they want as jannies are too busy gooning it to lolicon or chatting amongst themselves on /lgbt/ to care.
AI bots would actually improve the site, which is why we know there aren't any. It really is that bad organically.

no, I've got first hand experience with it from a few years ago. It's the reason I stopped using 4chan. There were threads popping up matching user responses to an exact AI model, I forget which model. Claude something
I suspect kiwifarms might suffer from the same problem, but it's more difficult to tell because the history of a user discourages mass posting. Instead, mutiple accounts have to be used to give the illusion of a consensus.

Also, talking to them, on boards with ID enabled showed instances of a user occupying the same thread for 5+ hours, responding to every user that referenced one of their posts. They never stopped posting, and they would keep responding no matter how circular the conversation became.
I remmeber one of the topics where AI was present was one where it kept pushing the idea of mining asteroids from space.

They said they trained the AI on previous "Delta winning" posts. Deltas are just extra special updoots you can get on that specific subreddit for "changing someone's mind".
Basically Reddit is just a faggy circle jerk and they trained a chatbot that could jerk more vigorously than a normal human to get more special updoots using the same tired talking points and confirmation biases.
Despite the name of the subreddit being r/changemyview, in practice people really only use it to try and reinforce their existing beliefs and they trained an AI that was really good at it. A true test of persuasion would be convincing redditors to believe something they weren't already deeply predisposed to believing, I am damn near certain the chatbot would find that a fruitless endeavor.
Overall, I'm not worried these kinds of tools will actually be able to change minds, the worst I can see them doing is getting people more firmly entrenched in their own retarded beliefs and perhaps by extension pouring gasoline on the culture war.

To use Reddit or basically any social media at this point is a colossal red flag. If you're not one of the first 3 comments, nobody will read yours. Despite this, adults with well-paying jobs, two cars and a family will sit down and write a 35 minute comment just to be ragebaited by AI to then reply and lay awake at night seething with anger towards.. a bot.

That’s true. My go to solution is constant self reflection and dialogue. Always ask yourself if what you believe is true, how long you’ve believed it and how well it accords with reality.
You can never be 100% confident you haven’t been manipulated somewhere into believing something false, but you can at least do mental spot checks to prevent full NPC-dom.
