That's got to be fake. No way is a non elderly person functioning in society that medicated and willing to admit to it. I've known a few people who've been on antidepressants or what have you and they don't go around bragging about it to strangers, in fact they struggle to tell close friends.

I know it's not the first, but Thanos and Infinity War were a major moment for this nonsense. Thanos "did nothing wrong" because it was for like, conservation or something.

Ignoring the fact that it's, you know, mass murder at an incomprehensible scale, there's the facts that

1) You eliminated half of all humans. There are things in the Marvel universe that eat humans. You eliminated half of their food.

2) The Marvel universe has magic - the ability to make something from nothing. Resource shortages shouldn't be a thing.

3) The Marvel universe has nanotechnology that transmutes one thing into another. Resource shortages shouldn't be a thing.

4) Most civilizations in the Marvel universe haven't achieved anything near full exploitation of their available resources.

5) Populations grow to meet the level of available resources, and then decrease when they exceed that level. This happens cyclically and is called that environment's carrying capacity. The snap just postpones one iteration of this cycle.

Thanos' plan makes no fucking sense, and none of the "genius" characters in the setting ever even try interrogating the idea and telling Thanos that he's a retard who doesn't understand ecology. Thanos "did nothing wrong" because no one thinks about it beyond his goal being, functionally, "equity."

It's unfathomably stupid and presaged all these people later supporting "degrowth communism."

I'm not a comic sperg but from what I've read online his original motive for killing half of humanity was because he was simping for the female embodiment of death in the Marvel universe. One of his early teasers even has him saying "to challenge them is to court death" which makes sense if you've read the comics but makes no sense at all considering how they changed his motives/character to be palatable to the smoothbrained masses.

See you're forgetting the main thing with his own civilization saying his shit was retarded: they fucking ended up killing themselves IMMEDIATELY after telling him his plan was retarded, which then solidified his mindset. The places he did the "kill half the population"shit on also ended up getting better afterwards and then joining his army which was the throwaway explanation as to why he had so many guys. Endgame kinda butchers his character last second and then kills him in a way where the timeline shit they explained would fall apart because he's the past thanos from before he even snopped half the universe at random. he goes from being "ah yeah see I died that's fine because what I did was the main message" and then "oh they're time travelling to undo my stuff which i already knew but didn't care about ok so now I will go to the future and tell them I'm going to just erase the WHOLE universe and make a new one" when his entire fucking reasoning since they retconned him from hinted death crush thing to just being a sagely space hippie guy with insanely fucked up followers due to how batshit insane and retarded his plan was, especially on a larger scale. The only guys that are gonna end up following him are the one who's civilizations were already FUBAR.

MCU thanos is also implied to have tortured his kids physically which doesnt line up with what they later characterize him like so it gets really fucking weird because no that's never implied to have been in their head.

There's a little bit more motivation to comic thanos than just courting his skeleton GF but yeah the "kill half of everyone snap" in the comic was basically just to try and go "ayy see how powerful I am? I killed all these people for YOU cause you're death and shit." Like the snap in the comics is what sets OFF the plot. Everything's normal and then suddenly "half the population is GONE?" type stuff.

Comic thanos also found out about christmas and spent it with his kid. MCU thanos would NEVER.

same shit with Dredd from sly and karl urban comparisons, only the faggiest of the fags downplay sly's dredd version when it was in a period where the actor was in the hollywood spotlight and the directors and writers wanted to bring that world from the comics to the big screen, especailly if you go on the helmet removing autism where people conventially ignore shit like cloning, judges retiring, ABC warriors, the wasteland... things that aren't shown on karl urban dredd because of the director and the writers focus from that movie being entirely different from sly's dredd.

Their lives are so sad and empty that all they have are cartoons and their "comfort characters". So they cope with the world around being scary by imagining that said character would be on their side. Personally I don't believe most of the waifus I've acquired over the years would be cool with men in dresses and bad wigs sneaking into girls bathrooms (give me your TMI ratings, I've said my piece) so I'm not too sure it's a good system.

I don't think that was necessarily a bad choice; the best introduction to the world of Dredd via comics aren't the huge epics, but the one-off stories.

What I don't care for is the attempt to make it look more "real" instead of embracing the absurdity of the Dredd universe. In a perfect world, we'd gotten the Karl Urban film but with the Stallone one's art direction.

Honestly it's this misguided obsession with "realism" that make modern comic book films so insufferable; rather than admitting that the comic books they're based off of are inherently at least a little bit silly, they treat it like a source of embarrassment and try to either avoid it or make excuses for it, rather than owning up to it, which combined with the cast and crew acting like manchildren anyway makes the whole thing come across as a giant projection of their own personal insecurities.

Which I guess is exactly why the Reddit crowd would love them so much.
