Why is it always that piss gets involved? Although, surprisingly he didn't threaten to shit on Trump's grave, since it's men that have shit fetishes, while women have piss ones.
It’s because “pissing on [one’s] grave” is already an established phrase and leftists are not original so they can’t come up with anything else besides what’s already been said by billions of other leftists

But out of the hundreds of posters, I would estimate less than five of them noticed the actual issue: Putting a keylogger on a computer is an inherent security risk. If whatever software he was using had known backdoors or vulnerabilities, or if its vendors' servers had experienced a data breach (and companies flogging keylogger software are frequent flyers on HaveIBeenPwned), all of his son's sensitive data would have been exposed to an attacker. You're also trusting the vendors of the software to not be scumbags and misuse the data you have given them access to themselves.

That isn't a minor point. This kind of software doesn’t just sit harmlessly in the background if it's not being used, it creates a persistent attack surface.

I found myself stunned that barely anyone in the thread seemed to have noticed this. Is what I'm pointing out here arcane knowledge? Or are Redditors really that stupid?
Not to undermine your technical knowledge - but what you described really is not obvious to regular people who do not reseach the tech they use. Most tech users are like that, unless they're naturally curious as a person or need it to work. Most normies do not know half the words you used in this post.

Reminds me of another reddit story where the guys neighbors asked him, very politely mind you, if he and his wife could be more quiet because the apartment wall was thin, so in response the guy had his girlfriend fuck him in the ass with a strap-on up against the connecting wall as loudly as possible and the neighbors never spoke to him again.

The shit people will share with strangers on reddit just to get off on the idea of upsetting social norms or defying authority is insane.
Sounds entirely fake (i know, beating a dead horse here), the real exchange, if there was any in the first place, went probably like the neighbour coming to his door and complaining about the noise, the redditor never making eye contact once and just meekly saying "ok" before closing the door.

Giving out sound advice? Not on my watch!
Put "parasocial" on the list of words that have lost all their original meaning thanks to redditors. I think there's still room next to "incel" and "alt-right".

Fair enough, but OP described himself as a "computer programmer", which to me implies an above-average level of tech literacy. The guy really should have known better.

And if what I'm describing really isn't common knowledge, then that kind of demonstrates a wider point that it's a bad idea to ask the general public for advice on issues where specialist knowledge is relevant. If you're not aware of the security risks of keyloggers/spyware, then you're plainly not qualified to recommend using them.

I can think of another example of this (but unfortunately can't find the post right now), where the OP had a disagreement with his wife over allowing their 15 year old to smoke weed in their house. OP was uncomfortable with it, the wife's logic was that it was safer if he was doing it at home instead of in school. Many of the comments sided with the wife, saying he should be given a safe place to do it instead of sneaking around. But I'm aware there is research that indicates the effects it can have on developing brains are pretty risky (higher risk of psychosis, addiction, etc.), and if you care about your kids' health that's not irrelevant. Other research suggests this risk may be overstated.

Without doing a deep dive on the research, you don't know. The average person does not know enough about the effects of adolescent drug use on brain development to have given OP responsible advice. Didn't stop them having an opinion, though.

So what was the right course of action? Without doing a deep dive on the research, you don't know. The average person does not know enough about the effects of adolescent drug use on brain development to have given OP responsible advice. Didn't stop them having an opinion, though.
I can discern a thesis of specififc problems requiring specific solutions from your post. Which is correct. Forums like Reddit and Quora might, possibly, have a specialist in their userbase, but those sites value how agreeable the opinion\solution is, not how correct it is (By the way, this is one of the things Hegel critiqued in Kant's model of philosophy, lol).

Personally I would research a topic on my own, check older and modern literature, I can assume you do this as well. I can only agree with the last paragraph of your post, it makes most sense. An opinion is not a hypothesis or theory, it does not have a base, and cannot be used as an argument\fact - unless it's something subjective (Which is not what the OP was talking about)

All you can really say is this, misery loves company and these leftists woulda had their assess whopped if it was 2000s era Batista before he took the soy and this is what happens when Eddie is dead bad shit happens Chris dead and soon Dave troons out and joins the 41 percent.

If shoplifters can't produce proof of children they are struggling to feed, they should be maimed. If they can, then branded. And litterers should have to remove their digits one by one Yakuza style and present them to the local authorities as penance until they learn. We live in a society, start having standards. I shouldn't have to page a fucking store associate to unlock the SOCKS cabinet like it was top shelf booze because of niggers both spiritually and actually. NIGGER I JUST WANT SOCKS!
The wild part is people will just ignore the elephant in the room and go grrrrrr capitalism.

I’ve met a surprising amount of middle class or even upper middle class women who think it’s okay to shoplift cause it’s fighting muh corpos .

You guys brought this on yourself since you enabled and gaslighted so many people into being into your cult i have no sympathy at all for any ill will that befalls upon such delusional follies.

I'll never be able to wrap my head around niggers feeling unsafe to live in white neighborhoods but happily shack up in the ghetto while their daughters get raped and pimped and their sons bleed out in the alley next to a dumpster.

interesting, because while basically any political creed can get behind the idea of, "There's just too many stupid people!", the notion that there is a threat of the unintelligent and dysgenic outbreeding the intelligent is just too adjacent to icky, problematic chud ideology for redditors to handle. Mike Judge probably understood such an idea wouldn't go over well with 20th Century, either, and softened the blow by making much of the film's idiot population a mix of cornfed rednecks and hyper-consumerist white Americans, but that still doesn't ease the feeling of dread progressive types get in the face of the films soft-endorsement of eugenics.

What they have to do, then, to capitalize on the memetic potential of the film while steering clear of the more "problematic" themes at the heart of it, is selectively link surface-level elements with whatever political aim they have at the moment, usually by implying that the film is actually about how stupid and "deeply unserious" the heckin' drumpfies are. But in cases like the post above, when a redditor actually watches the film and can't just take the movie at a surface level "Haha people are so dumb (except for me, of course!)", they suddenly can't take the heat from what is actually being implied underneath the hood.

Just wait until these "IDIOCRACY IS BECOMING REAL" people find out that Mike Judge hangs out with Alex Jones.

So who's going to tell the Redditors that if Idiocracy happened, the stupid people would be overwhelmingly brown?

In fairness to Judge a lot of the extras and unnamed characters are nonwhite/mutt-looking. It's nothing crazy but depicting browns as dysgenic in any capacity wouldn't be allowed today; a remake would have 90+ percent of the extras be pasty trailer trash.
