What triggered this? A fancasting that was never going to happen, of course. Troons got excited about Hunter Schafer playing Princess Zelda, a woman. Unfortunately Hunter is not, in fact, also a woman, which I don't know maybe should be a basic requirement for playing a female character.

This is exactly why I hate the Trans Invasion of subs. If they just showed up and kept quiet, talked about DK or MArio and whatever, nobody would care. But every single time even the most mild, milquetoast criticism shows up, they have to circle the wagons, act smugly defiant against an extremely vague threat, and derail the actual topic at hand to talk about themselves.
