Maybe I'm just a cunt about getting gifts but he probably didn't actually want it/figured there were strings/now felt trapped by gift exchange and was trying to spare her feelings, it sounds like. You can't spring shit on people and get mad when they don't react how you want.

It's their favorite pass time. It's a mere aesthetic to feel "different" to despite only caring about what was popular. I have yet to see anyone do a genuine deep dive of the 2000s/2010s internet culture that isn't related to what zoomers and gen-z'ers commonly conlude what the 2000s/2010s is. There's a reason I feel neutral whenever I hear someone's claim of making an "authentic" representation of the 2000s/2010s and it's all just what terminally online Redditors/Tumblrs/Twitter Users assume it all to be. Referencing the Cartoon Industry thread, that's how I felt about Wastelandia. People say it screams 2000s but nothing about it looks like the 2000s. Breach of intent can wrongly label a scenario under confident misclassification and thus exaggerate harm and gag dissent. If such data is to be kept, then an optout must be mandated.
