I had a problem with an electronic device I bought, that started failing literally months after warranty. I thought I would try to reach out to support anyway but it turns out the only real way to reach a real support agent is to post on their fucking subreddit. So I hold my nose and create an account just to post a review and ask for help. Over the course of 20 hours there were twenty comments and 95% of them were "I don't have this problem, I love my device, you must be lying!" Only to get a janny message saying "New account, rage bait posts, and 0 karma. I'm removing this because its just astroturfing." The only comment that was different was some guy responding with "You would have better sympathy posting in r/deviceUncensored"

I always knew that place was a shithole but seeing the actual corporate astroturfing and consumer worship is something else entirely. Now I have a $700 brick and can't even warn others to not waste their hard earned money because I don't post enough on r/Dogs or some shit.

Only tangentially related to Reddit, but I saw an ad on their mobile app about avoiding gift card scams.

At least it's a crime that's in the realm of possibility for a white guy to commit.

Unlike all those anti sexism PSAs where the wholesomechungus buff chad black dude calls out the nerdy white guy for being too sexually aggressive and lecturers him on consent.

Something which I'm fairly certain has never happened in the entirety of recorded human history.

2000 upvotes btw, just to give some context Argentina poverty rate was 52% when Milei got in power, two years later it's 28%, if you read the comments it's all redditors confirming each other cognitive bias without giving any data to support the idea that the rightoids are destroying the economy.

I found one chain of comments where the anti-Milei talking points get destroyed, but the upvotes are nothing close to the 2000 upvotes the anti-Milei comments have.

Assuming OP is a woman and her ex is a man, "go buy a gun" is the most sound advice for this situation entirely. This really isn't even a legal advice situation though tbh.

Sure, she could file for a restraining order but a piece of paper isn't gonna stop a guy from raping you and slitting your throat. OP could also pray that the ex somehow doesn't find them. Could pray that when he starts kicking down the door, the cops show up in time. No guarantees the police get to you before he's done smashing your door in either. On the contrary, it's quite hard to kill someone if you already have weeping chest wounds so buying a gun, if you're truly afraid for your life in this scenario is the best advice.

Not an expert but if someone has stated intent to kill you and shows up to your place of residence to do so, no charges in the world will stick on you. Unless you live in one of those faggot "duty to retreat" states maybe.
