This is a lot of speculation but I found some stuff that to me suggests reddit admins might literally be taking instructions from outside sources on who to ban and that's how r/detrans temporarily got the chop. I gathered up most of the info from @julepparadox and random twitter threads.

To quickly recap, the reason r/detrans exists is because reddit tranny drewiepoodle who is so autistic he moderates 84 subs, and his friends, took over the subreddit r/detransition within hours of the mod being announced dead by requesting it on r/redditrequests. None of them are detransitioners and they started deleting posts and not responding to questions about deletions. So then actual detransitioners created r/detrans.

"ORIGIN STORY
In late 2017, the founder of this subreddit noticed that "r / detransition" was quietly deleting posts (https://archive.vn/2kWMf). It was then discovered that the creator of that sub was deceased (https://archive.is/rr7sb), the other three moderators had become mods hours after this death's announcement (https://archive.is/oA51m), and their profiles, histories, and activity showed a bias against detransition. The mods were contacted, as were Reddit admins for violation of the sitewide "no camping" rule, to no reply.

This newer subreddit seeks to put detransitioners' rights, needs, and interests first, while respecting all viewpoints in a civil environment."

@julepparadox claims drewiepoodle and goth dad Bardfinn have been trying to take over r/detrans ever since it was created but did not offer any specific examples, however it's easy to believe when you see Bardfinn tried to snatch control of r/detrans within minutes of it being unbanned, and how drewiepoodle interacts with r/detrans mods.

Both goth dad and drewiepoodle are in the league of extraordinary trolls which I'm assuming was already discussed in this thread. They take over subs they find offensive and they have also been accused of using methods like posting cp or other underhanded methods to get the subs the want. It's worth noting both r/gendercritical and r/detrans mods talked about being flooded with odd user reports around the time of the bannings. r/detrans mod reports still getting reports, even for positive stuff like people posting selfies.

Drewiepoodle has hung out at reddit HQ and I think I read somewhere Bardfinn also had meetings with reddit reps regarding tranny issues or hate subs or something like that?

So basically, a bunch of mega trannies with some connections to reddit administration have been trying to take down/control over r/detrans for a long while now. And what do you know, r/detrans suddenly goes down despite nothing being wrong with it even by reddit's new retarded standards. The list of subs r/detrans goes down with is tailor made for AGP narcissistic injury too. r/actuallynotlesbians for example was a tiny sub of maybe 1000 members that chronicled troons never shutting up about their dicks on lesbian subs. Who even gives a shit about such a tiny sub other than AGPs? The entire list is basically the AHS hit list. This is why I suspect reddit admins were basically working off a list given to them without first truly assessing whether those subs break TOS, banned r/detrans like they were requested, got spooked when they saw twitter starting to catch fire because of it, reviewed the sub like they should have done the first time, and then unbanned it.

Most of those maledom 'broken girls' and 'misogyny' subreddits got taken over by OnlyFans girls ages ago. They were full of girls taking nude selfies and going 'tell me how you'd like to use and degrade me teeheehee, oh by the way subscribe to my private Snapchat.'

The worst thing about reddit is that it has the balls to call itself the "front page of the internet". Who actually thinks that reddit is top-tier in terms of social media? I've only thought of the site as something to waste your time on for a few minutes. The only people who really care about the site are weirdos who are too socially awkward for regular social media.

I'd never want to have a drink with the r/gendercritical harpies but I give them credit for being one of the very few places on the internet that acknowledged the horrible treatment of women and girls in the middle east, India, and Africa. Everywhere else ignored it or even worse said it was bigoted to oppose corrective rape and clit chopping.

This fits in with my theory that they only really have so many male users and their ad results show they're very splintered. The idea was that as each sub added to the overall value, you'd anchor users more steadily to the site and they wouldn't wanna leave. My bet is they see lots and lots of dudes with single-function accounts for their filthy kink trash, separate from their memes and iphone news subs and their numbers will get tanked if they outright ban them.
They're banking on the quartn. working and getting it out of sight and mind for the uptight priests, trying to play both sides. I still think all their days are numbered, pretty much all these legacy sites are. The guys 18-30 I know in reality are getting kicked out and down of most of their hangouts for relatively benign stuff. One guy here almost got fired for not doing the black square thing on insta, and he reportedly never even logs in. The fact that he was a dude and he wasn't in on the movement on the right day signalled to his boss that he had "Right leaning tendencies".

They're just leaving it and tapping out from these pious san fran shithole sites. They were there for memes, chungi, and titties, and now that each of those is either censored or banned. (No chungus, only lefty-friendly, non-offensive memes please! and "well breasts under a c cup are basically CP so no more, only fat broads here kthx")
