Also many clearly speciated animals can breed and have viable offspring. Like dogs, coyotes, and wolves. Biologists even admit that different hominid species could interbreed 30,000 or more years ago (e.g. Denisovans, Neanderthals) but can't make the leap that races are evidence of modern speciation.
I don't think you realize it, but really, all you're arguing for is an idiosyncratic definition of "speciated" that's more along the lines of "phenotypically different". We don't have one objective, universally-applicable definition of "species"; instead, what we have is a generally-accepted set of criteria that in practice do a good enough job at ensuring we're talking about the same thing when we say "species" or "speciation."

Hypothetically, let's say you convince the world to employ your definition of "species". All you'd have done is replaced what's currently called "subspecies" with "species", replaced the current "species" with "genus", and bumped every other taxonomic rank down by one. So what?

The starker the taxonomic difference is, the harder it will be for people to stick their fingers in their ears and shout that race isn't real and has no practical considerations. It will also help people change their outlook on outdated theories of Man that attempt to prop up the "all humans are identical" hypothesis, and we might get a clearer picture on the evolution of hominids up to the modern era.

The argument I was trying to make was essentially that a debate about how taxonomic ranks should be defined is moot. Like, imagine we were scientists studying Pluto, and you spent a bunch of time and energy trying to convince me that Pluto should be considered a planet. Who cares? That doesn't tell us anything meaningful about the facts that matter, e.g., the composition of its atmosphere, the speed of its rotation, seasonal variations in surface temperatures, etc. Those facts remain the same whether we call Pluto a planet or a "dwarf planet" or something else.

I'm not sure "outdated" is the word I'd use because such theories of equality are essentially brand-fucking-new when viewed on the timeline of modern biology.

Is it just me or is this really fucking ugly?
So my understanding of autism is that it’s a brain condition that starts at birth and presents itself when the child is about 2 years old. At this point it is very important that the child is diagnosed and they get the special attention that they need. The supper spazzed out autistic people you see today are the ones who were never really taken care of, while the high functioning ones are the ones who got the special, specific help for kids with autism.

what this picture tells me is the parent didn’t do a good job, or somewhere lacked in the care for the kid. Now the kids all fucked up, but man he’s good with a grill! And it’s just so... ugh. So ugly.

It's the slouchy posture and that stupid ass grin. If he stood up straight and stopped grinning, he'd look less like Pvt. Pile from Full Metal Jacket and more like a normal human being.

You can't expect someone with a mental impairment to `act normal', it just doesn't work like that.

Besides the questionable morals of parading around your disabled son for internet points, there's nothing wrong with the post. If the guy likes to barbeque, good on him.

A pandemic, seasonal illness, natural disasters, the death of an old woman who caused a political mess and a presidential election that will no doubt be contested is only topped by our yearly time change that is still five weeks away. How dare 2020 make me turn on a lamp before 7pm.

China has a major financial stake in Reddit. They intentionally allow and actually push this content. (To say nothing of Reddit promoting communist content while banning the USA right wing). Negative news on China is often downvoted, locked, or deleted. News praising China, and official CCP press released that make things sound better than they really are? Pushed heavily.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sino/ is one of the worst examples of this. I'll try to find some posts I have saved from it. They're notorious for banning ACTUAL CHINESE or other Asian people who criticize the CCP, China or question the mob. I also recommend checking out "sinophobia watch" "Sino watch" is trying to take down anti-CCP subs (even though the CCP is horrible)
I wouldn't go so far as to say reddit is actively pushing for pro-China propaganda. I still see many anti-China posts upvoted with 5 digit numbers and subs like r/HongKong are still active. However, I do notice whenever people criticize China, there are a few users who resort to "whataboutism" aimed at the US, as if that somehows justifies the actions.

Only a former subway employee would be so retarded as to not notice that a goddamn sub is wrapped in tinfoil before putting it into a microwave. Let alone notice the shower of sparks that would immediately follow turning the machine on.

The only way that I could see this even possibly happening is if they made the dumb-shit decision to microwave it with the outer wrapper still on it, the one with all the Subway branding and such, and then immediately just ran the fuck away even though it should only take like a minute at most to reheat.

Subway is not liable for you being an idiot and not looking to see what you’re microwaving.

I don't get how you huck a full sandwich with wrapper into the microwave but then somehow ignore the cacophony of pops, crackles, and other noises to let it blow up your appliance. I've never heard of a sub that explodes into sparks when lightly heated.
