reddit General

I had an account for about a month. I was using an obscure electrical engineering subreddit. Someone posted a question about getting a PLC to communicate with a computer. In the course of explaining what to do, I referenced a specific part, a gender bender, so that the necessary cable would work with the person's USB port.

It's legitimately what the part is called. Went to sleep. Next morning found out I was Perma banned from the subreddit and I had about 30 messages from the mod accusing me of hate speech, harassment, and stalking.

I guess the subreddit community, and even some of the other mods, made fun of the top mod for overreacting to a proper engineering term and over the course of the night, my account was banned and unbanned repeatedly. Eventually I guess that top mod won.

The whole subreddit got nuked the next day. Then I noticed I was banned from like every single subreddit on the main page or whatever. So I left.
What subreddit was this?

Just to get a really good idea of the caliber of people involved in this squabble:
Bathrobe Dwane used to have a shitty mod called runescape_arago. This was a kid with serious mental issues and banned alot of viewers for nothing. Dwane eventually had enough, unmodded him and blocked him. Here are all the times arago called in on stream, crying about wanting to be remodded and having multiple mental breakdowns. He ended up making around 110 alts to stalk and harass Dwane, begging to be remodded and unblocked.
Take a moment to listen to these, it's absolute comedy gold.

It's like a toddler arguing with his mom, quite literally. :story:

Now imagine having to tard wrangle a whole bunch of these! I almost, almost feel bad for Spez!

EDIT: re-listening to these, I don't even know where my sides are anymore

I got IP banned from reddit as a whole the other day because some guy on my local city sub made a post about reporting his co-workers for not getting the shot and going to the capital protests like he was some fucking tough guy.

He cried to the admins and my sock got the boot.

If he actually believed what he was doing was important and not just doing it to be a vigilante, he would have kept the post up. Don't do things pseudo-anonymously that you wouldn't do in real life.

I will never understand why do jannies do it for FREE.

Took me a while to realize that was supposed to be a NPC jannie and not Null for some reason.

Making the site unusable = decreased ad impressions = less $$$ = mad boss = :(
Even 30 minutes of site downtime causes chaos and large loss of money in large websites. This is why planned downtime (even for a few minutes) is announced weeks or months ahead of time and done at midnight.

Also I am pretty sure nobody, not even Reddit employees, enjoys dealing with these people. And the hilarity of non-employee volunteers threatening to "shut down the site." Do these people even realize that admins could reopen the subs and permanently ban or even ip ban their accounts and they would not be able to do anything about it?
These retards should know that the admins of reddit could replace them with fucking indians who work for pennies and do their job somewhat better with zero drama.

India and (Internet Forum) Sanitation aren't words that go together often.
I see that "/r/AskBibleScholars" is also private now. Guessing that was full of fart-huffing academics who have never set foot in a church in years and use "ACKSHUALLY"-style posts to re-interpret the Bible as hardcore leftism.

Never got why anyone would go on Reddit to ask those questions when there are/were millions of boards that provided a equal or better experience. Probably could get better answers out of PuritanBoard as long as the question isnt about heliocentrism...

It's nice to say "just bring the ban hammer down and clean slate that shit", but that would result in massive short term chaos since there'd be nobody ready to mod and, especially right now, barbarians are at the gate with the highest powered N-Word Ballistas they can muster.

An action like that needs a roll out period, so even if that's the action they chose, we wouldn't see it for a few days and they likely wouldn't want to make a public shit show out of it for the sake of investors.

🚨JANNY CIVIL WAR IN FULL FORCE🚨

As leaked here, and in response to the leaks, on top of getting nipped in the bud by an admin, Reddit jannies have now turned on each other, censoring, deleting, and banning their posts.

In the meantime, they toss around the idea of shutting down entire Reddit boards to finally sway the admin that told them to stop freaking out, comparing it a "march" since actual walking is too physically strenuous for a Reddit janny. They attack anyone who says this idea is stupid.

On top of just attacking anyone who says this whole thing is stupid.

They also pretend that they don't care about these screencaps getting leaked...

...While complaining about these screencaps getting leaked.

Full background:

This all began when Reddit mods spammed an anti-anti-vax copypasta in every popular Reddit, including porn Reddits like "hypnosis porn" and "women bending over" (NSFW for both).

When asked to stop, mods responded saying just to "ignore" a stickied post at the top of every popular Reddit.

View attachment 2493190

It was later discovered that this effective spamming was coordinated by Reddit mods in a Discord specifically for Reddit mods.

View attachment 2493192

A Reddit admin stepped in and deleted the mods' hysteria, spurring the mods to call the admins "dictators" and "tyrants" because they won't let them censor and ban people who disagree with them on their spam messages.

This inspired the mods to begin writing to congress and workshop starting a union for Reddit jannies.

View attachment 2493199 View attachment 2493200

They soon realized they were getting their Discord chats leaked, as shared by Cateloaf, spurring its own meltdown.

View attachment 2493221 View attachment 2493222 View attachment 2493224

This inspired the people over at rdrama to archive their entire Discord server. Despite being fully aware they are getting their chats leaked, they decide to openly discuss how they're going to try to remove any Reddit that they don't agree with, including conservative Reddits, as shared by The Stinky Skink.

And remember, everyone, Reddit jannies hate being called "jannies." They just disguise how it makes them feel bad by calling it "transphobic," which makes as much sense as it sounds. So please don't call them that.

Why do they all talk like nigger zoomers on Twitter

Redditor tries to justify letting corporations muffle free speech, because so long as the government doesn't stifle it it is fine if they sit by and let companies do. What a great fucking precedent that can lead no where but a corporate hellscape in decades to come.

Their reeee-ing about how conservative subs are literally killing americans with the corona virus requires the same level of mental gymnastics as saying that radical feminists are literally killing transwomen.

Also, they know there aren’t vaccines that are safe for kids under twelve, right? So no one should be vaccinating their kids.
