homophobia doesn't take holidays
Before I begin my rant, in anticipation of having someone call me out, and there are about twelve people who, as soon as this post goes live will do just that and invite themselves of some asinine right to edit me, I have something to show you:

Those are two American flags. They were presented to members of my family on behalf of my Uncle and Grandfather, respectively, for their services to our country. My uncle was killed in Vietnam back in 1968. My grandfather fought in World War II, The Korean War, and also spent a short time in Vietnam. He died several years ago. They are, my, our, most prized, treasured possessions.
Here at the house of ngblog, every day is Memorial Day.
But in addition to being a proud nephew and grandson, I'm a blogger and activist. Although Ive been relegated to the sidelines or the cheap seats, I know all too well homophobia doesn't take holidays.
Again for those who are living in bliss, earlier this week RuPaul Charles, host of the popular show RuPaul’s Drag Race, broke his silence by appearing on Marc Maron's WTF podcast recently where he defended his use of words which have been declared offensive by a special interest group comprised of trans women, whose idea of transgenderism involves lots of makeup and cosmetics.
Yesterday, Cristan Williams, the editor in chief of
transadvocate.com responded to RuPaul's remarks by calling Mr. Charles, a faggot.
But what say all the gay bloggers, the self anointed media watchdogs for all things homophobia, the super hero activists who spend their entire online on the fainting couch, shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU, at all the things christian conservatives say and do?

Yeah. that.
Okay, not exactly.
Noah Michelson, the Executive Editor of Gay Voices, and someone transgender activists have been pressuring Huffington Post to have fired because of his decision to run a video from Alaska Thunderfuck that showed him shooting a transgender blogger in the head with a blow dryer, did have something to say to one of the members of this anti-gay fringe group/ His response? By invoking some bullshit Buddhism teaching of love and light.
Or praying the hate away.
You would think that Noah would have had enough of this nonsense.
Obviously, not.

Wait, it gets better.
Carlos Maza, LGBT Program Director for media watchdog group Media Matters For America and Equality Matters, MMFA's media and communications initiative in support of gay equality, spent most of his day on social media reading people who side with RuPaul the riot act. But no sooner this blogger asked him directly what they have to say about Cristan Williams premeditated homophobic attack on RuPaul, something went wrong with his Twitter.
As for The Southern Poverty Law Center, is concerned, they've found a distraction, a mass shooting incident that occurred Saturday morning in Isla Vista, a beach community near the University of California, in Santa Barbara and are pretending to be relevant, posting and releasing information about the suspect that was already availalble on the internet.
How convenient for them.
