Sonichu Redeeming Sonichu: is a good rewrite even possible?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The idea of Sonichu is terrible by nature (like many other retarded crossover type things), so the only conceivable way it can be good would be if it was an absurdest comedy. If taken seriously, it would end up like Kingdom Hearts: Showing effort and some level of creativity, but crippled by the stupidity of it's concept.

I'd say that if you were to rewrite Sonichu, you'd have to stick to some of the "major" plot events. The bare bones of the plot (the parts that don't focus as much on romance) Can easily be summarized with bullet points.

  • The core plot of Sonichu, per issue:
    0. the birth of Sonichu and the meeting with Rosechu, as well as the introduction to Naitsirhc
    1. Black Sonichu, and (possibly) Metal Sonichu
    2. Chris getting the medallion,
    3. the Chaotic Combo,
    4. the introduction of Crystal,
    5. The proper introduction of Mary Lee Walsh and the PVCC. Crystal gets stuck in the Dark Mirror Hole
    6. the Sonichu balls are introduced. Four are found. Black Sonichu becomes a good guy.
    7. Chris, Sonichu, and Magi-chan Sonichu go back in time to find a Sonichu ball. Chris gets lost in the time void on the way back.
    8. Sonichu, Rosechu, and Wild Sonichu take the fight to 4-cent_garbage. The last Sonichu ball is found. Silvana is introduced.
    9. PVCC invades, CWCVille pulls out all they have to defend. Chris is pulled out of the time void.
    10. Under Chris' guidance, and with the power of the Sonichu balls the defenders of CWCVille mount a succesful counter-offense against the PVCC, and free Crystal from the mirror.
Sonichu has a lot of things that make it what it is, but if you're planning on doing a rewrite of the series with the major plot points intact, most of them can easily be modified(The specifics on how Chris got his medal, Black's reason for becoming a good guy, how and where the Sonichu balls are found, backstories etc.) or outright omitted(Everyone having a significant other, Patti-Chan, most of the sub-episodes etc.. Probably Reldnahc too). Add onto this the fact that all characters are basically nearly blank slates with only vague characteristics you can easily expand upon, and you've got yourself a pretty good start.

Shit, now I kinda feel like going for it a little bit.

I'd try adding more to this but I'm a bit pressed for time right now.

Sonichu would be great if they axed all the characters in it and replaced them with the cast of Breaking Bad.

I've been nursing some ideas for "an alternative universe" Sonichu, but I'm starting to realize that this is another project that I'm not going to finish. I'm resurrecting the thread because I still want to share these ideas, and hopefully you'll get a chuckle out of them.

In case it isn't obvious, Quickville = CWCville. There will be much renaming here.

The Anchuent Prophecy

First of all, I'd like to change the name of the Cherokian Clan to CHUrokian Clan, to match the original Pikachu pun of the prophecy.

Secondly, the prophecy is about the three sides / alter egos of Christian and their struggle for the balance (or dominance) of his psyche: Chris-Chan, Crystal and Reldnahc. Only two of the three can be active at a time, which is why Reldnahc surfaced when Crystal got trapped in the mirror. Not quite sure what would happen if she was released.

I considered renaming Reldnahc just Kristian, with a K.

The Species, Sonichu & Rosechu

Screw the gender-specific names, they're all just chus.

There are exactly nine chus in Quickville: Sonichu, Rosechu, Black Sonichu, Silvana and the Combo. While Chris, Crystal and Reldnahc are able to assume a chu form, they are still inherently human.

The Chu Balls/Crystals/Ducks

When empty, the Chu balls will merely enhance their wielder's abilities, but to unlock their true power one needs to capture the seven chus born from the Rainbow. Sonichu (being the source of the Rainbow) and his clone, Black Sonichu, can draw power from the balls to assume their Super form, while Chris, Crystal and Reldnahc can channel the powers of the captured chus. (this is kind of canon; see Sub-Episodes 7 and 8)

Darkbind and RuleCWC

No.

Black Sonichu

Being only a clone of Sonichu, Black is obsessed with surpassing Sonichu's strength and proving himself better than him. He is also madly in love with Rosechu, which leads to him trying to take over Sonichu's life and replacing him as the "hero" of Quickville.

Magi-chan

"Chan" is a diminutive honorific suffix used for young people, and it really doesn't suit this character. If anything, his name should be Magi-san or just Magi.

Magi-chan is a... broken man. Not only is he involved in Quickville's absurd politics, he's been tasked with the duty of scanning the citizens' minds for homoerotic thoughts - and watching them fuck. (That may sound kinky at first, but people are into some sick shit.) While he doesn't openly oppose the sex laws, he has been using the city's funds to smuggle homosexuals out of Quickville and securing them a safe place to start a new life.

Sleep-deprived, stressed and sick of the Mayor's whims, Magi has found some solace in wacky tobacky.

I had some smaller notes on Mary-Lee, Angelica and Bubbles, but those were unimportant. And dumb.

Well, enjoy the nonsense. :squirtle:

Angellica should like, first be renamed Angella. Sounds less on the nose while still being obvious. Then! We make her into a badass. A fire and brimstone type nun. Give her a set of doublebarreld shotguns shaped like christian crosses because why the hell not. Have her wear latex and give her an attractive body... That she hates. The reason for this being that Chris has drawn porn of what should be a saintly type.

Sometimes when I close my eyes I see in five dimensions.

Make Punchy an aging brawler who has been given a chance to take a dive in exchange for a lot of cash. Holding onto his pride he instead savagely beats his opponent to death and runs off with the money. An encounter with the evil Count Graduon leaves him wounded, and about to be raped in a pawn shop by a jerkop. He gets away and even comes back to save Graduon, in the process of being buggered. Punchy then rides away on the dead jerkops motorcycle with Angelica. She asks him where he got it, he says who, she asks who that is and he turns slightly and says

"Bagget? Baggets dead, baby". AUGH YEAH AUGH YEAH

I think it is entirely possible, but I actually have a much better opinion of Sonichu than most people. You could call me Sonichu's only fan. I think that despite it's derivative nature the early parts at least have some small potential. In fact I'm working on an attempt right now.

For a rewrite of Sonichu, here is how it could be:
Make parts in the comic similar to real-life: The jerkops and their jerk leaders (jerkhief, manajerk, etc.) are just regular guys in ridiculous clothing dealing with Chris, CWCkiville is just Charlottesville with a name change, Chris isn't the mayor. Chris' Sonichu creations can't really live up to what Chris claims they do (Punchy isn't a martial arts experts since the dojo he came from was really one of those McDojo's, Magi-Chan is really just a cold reader who also uses surveillance cameras in places he installed, Sonichu isn't really powerful, Blake isn't really evil plus he is actually Sonichu's younger brother, etc.), Chris' and Sonichu' adventures are really just made up stories(example: Megtune doesn't really hug Chris nor does she wear that Sailor Moon outfit. Wes Iseli/Walter Grisby isn't really trying to kill or hurt Chris but rather just annoyed at Chris trying to fight him over a woman who is really nothing more than an ex of his.)

This wouldn't be the best idea, especially with some of the previous ones mentioned.

I think I could do a Hollywood adaptation, but you'd have to murder Sonichu to tell the story of Sonichu, I guess.

Take an actor like Jack Black (or really any of a dozen Hollywood actors that seem to specialize in playing manchildren) to play CWC.

Give it a sense of magic -- say a classic Peewee's Big Adventure vibe. Which is really how I see CWCville.

CWC will live in a magical world filled with Flintstones' sound effects and crazy Rube Goldberg machines. Essentially, CWCville is his every day reality rather than his escape.

After his father falls ill from an evil snake bite (using some license here), CWC will have to journey out of CWCville into the Real World of Charlottesville to get a job or else the family will lose their wacky, overstuffed and dilapidated but charming mansion-like estate.

CWC gets into many comical adventures involving his primary antagonist: Old Martin Lee Walsh, the Real World Charlottesville mall developer that wants to foreclose on his family home to build a new parking lot, the jerkops, etc.

We have to shoehorn in a Megan Pixie Dream Girl but I don't think that'll be too hard. She already was one.

The hedgehog shit has to go. The story is CWC and his attempt to preserve and prolong his youth for as long as possible against uniformly hostile outside forces.

I just realized that I more or less did to Sonichu what the movie-within-the-movie in Pee Wee's Big Adventure did to, uh, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, if you can follow that.

The Sonichu comics can't be redeemed. The main character is named "Sonichu", his love interest is named "Rosechu", and his antagonist is a niggo named "Black Sonichu". Even an eight year old could tell you how retarded that is.

I'd not only redesign the -chus, but I would also have taken out CWC as a character altogether.

Because I'm used to writing within the Science Fiction-Fantasy genre it would be about the chus being a race of sentient beings (capable of using magic btw) that live in a utopian bio-dome called CWCville. Outside of the dome is a dark, gritty universe where danger lurks in every corner. Crystal would be the protagonist who has discovered this dome with her father, Robert, and wishes to write about this world... but upon publishing about this utopia she recieves backlash from the PVCC.

I guess if I were to re-write it then that would be the general gist of it.

The Pee Wee Herman-ish re-imagining of CWC and his world is exactly what I had in mind too. Maybe making him a likable, sympathetic character who experiences actual personal growth is a bit of a stretch, but wishful thinking etc. The sub-episodes always intrigued me a lot more than the actual Sonichu content (most of which is boring as shit and probably irredeemable), so I'd focus on the twisted alternate reality Chris has already brought us and run with it. The original Sonichu #8 might stand on its own as some kind of bizarre Dadaist outsider art, though, and in that case it's perfect as is.

here is my idea
Cwc spends all his welfare money on creating sonichu(a mutant hedgehog with electrical powers), steals weapons, and goes on a rampage in an attempt to take over green county and charoletsville(and succeeds)!

Megan Schroeder has mutated herself into a skunk (with megagi's coloration) prior to the events, and has fled the greencounty/charoletsville area as her own weapons won't be enough to take on Chris, his PMCs (referred to as true blue), and his Poke/Mobian hybrids(the electric hedgehog Pokemon).

(she was also afraid that if she stayed there too long, she will be captured by Chris Chan and raped)

She is the main protagonist, and she also goes after other internet infamous people (such as: Adam Wan (irl rapist), Alog:alog:, Dragoneer (incompetent admin who is covering said rapist), and Jay Naylor (lying conservefag)).

I forgot to add as well:

  • Crystal would be wearing a gas mask throughout the course of the comic- she'd also wear a striped tank top under her black elbow-sleeved jacket and wear badass boots
  • Chus would be re-designed to be more animal like, to remove the likeness of sonic-recolors and pokemon; they also turn out to be aliens which have come to earth to try to rid of the toxic fumes killing off life on it.
  • Major plot point about 100 years prior to the start is that the Yellowstone super-volcano had erupted and only about 10% of humans remain. Crystal, like many people in her time, suffer from respiratory problems in her time.
  • Throughout Crystal's health deteriorates after she catches tuberculosis from her (by now) deceased mother and despite the Chus being concerned for her health, she is determined to help them fulfill their role on earth even if it claims her life
Crystal has an evil twin brother who is a corrupt ruler in the last remaining city on earth that is determined to keep humanity retained in one country so he goes out of his way to make sure she fails at helping the Chus. It turns out toward the end he was isolated by his totalitarian step parents that conditioned him into eliminating any threat to their kingdom, just to keep humanity under complete surveillance until total extinction.

Or something like that.

Goddamn now I want to draw this, but my art skills are lacking (it looks too animu)

CWCville is a Truman Show with CWC as the star.
Sonichus/pokemon are just regular animals with weird haircuts/weaves and their fur dyed. All of the dialogue between them is in Chris's head.
The Sonichu medallion is an electronic device that reads Chris's brainwaves and creates the animal dialogue for the show.
The show had a very hard time finding women that would stay on for more than one episode
Mary Lee Walsh invented jerkops, holographically projected cops that come from a hand held unit. The jerkop device is now given to all women hired by CWCVille.
They were specifically made to thwart Chris. The entertainment value is what now keeps women on the show.

RAIN SLIVES IN CWCVILLE

Let's see how good (or competent) Christian Weston Chandler is at dealing with someone else's true and (seriously) original creation!

Rain is a sergal btw

(Cwc is competent as he is continent:briefs:)
