NP! It's honestly a cute design! I love Vanillalice.OMG this is so
Oh my gosh this is so cute... I’m cryingThank you so much!
To be honest, anything anyone writes here would be better and probably more coherent than whatever the hell the plot in the comic was.Has anyone tried to create a new story with all of these characters? I haven't checked in this thread for a while.
Wholeheartedly agree. If anything is ever made from this conglomeration of redesigns, I'd love to play a part in it, or at least read it. There's some very talented people on here. You're all coming up with some nice artwork here, I'm an advocate for more cis gay males being constructed from these characters, since I think my primary motivator for doing something like this would fall less into actually wanting to work with the idea, and more with wanting to make PK upset getting my robotic claws all over that CC license.
Gay boy Orobas is extremely cute. If I can find my sketchbook I might contribute just for the hell of it. I'd want to focus more on direct inspiration from their literal Goetic inspirations, some of you have done an excellent job with that already.
My main critique of Floraverse is less with the design work and more with the written personalities. Despite the vibrant and diverse characters, they all more or less behaved exactly the same and it was grating. Get some very modest, generous, shy and rational characters in here. Direct antithesis to that horrible bitchy self entitled asshole personality every single character seemed to have.

The question is that, whenever someone talks in the original thread about exploiting the Creative Commons license or something along those lines, multiple people bring up the fact that the characters will have the taint of a child/animal rapist.
Myself, I do not care. I want to do my own thing without the Internet bossing me around...
...but there IS a certain amount of satisfaction in developing a rapist's characters without permission... especially if my developments make the characters actually better.
So like having some hints of meta-humor referencing PK’s dirt? That’s a hilarious idea actually. I’m all for that.I mean, that's not automatically a bad thing.
Hear me out.
If we use her history AGAINST her, right? The thing she's done, the things she surrounds herself, her past, why not use themes like that in the work and use the taint to transform it FURTHER? Atleast from a story perspective it'd be very clever, and slightly post modern in the context of the ethos of the original comic.
Not just that, using themes of like abuse and gender and sex and all sorts of things as like core themes if there's ever an attempt to have some sort of drama or message to say, and that's put into character flaws and the like.So like having some hints of meta-humor referencing PK’s dirt? I feel the same way. There's many series in many media that uses characters that people don't like or were used in less than favorable ways by the fans, and were brought back with a nice/new start. That's what reboots are for! So long as it doesn't get too angsty or goes over certain boundaries, I don't see why not. There's probably many people who can relate to such things, and maybe feel better seeing others (fictional or not) get through it in a healthy manner. It's sort of hopeful? Like, "if they can get through it, maybe *I* can too!" And of course making jabs at PK's terrible writing, storytelling, etc is always funny. Especially if, hypothetically, a rebooted/reworked Floraverse did even better than the original. Not just that, using themes of like abuse and gender and sex and all sorts of things as like core themes if there's ever an attempt to have some sort of drama or message to say, and that's put into character flaws and the like.

Take a pile of shit and turn it into gold.
Or even better, take something broken and terrible and make it actually better and coherent and something people will actually really love and want to read.

We should definitely cut out most, if not all, of the fake-deep "surrealist" stuff she tried to attempt, like the Here Goes Nothing comics. Those were obnoxious.Yeah, exactly, all of this. If i were writing it (which i might but i'd need to read it more heavily or find some vivian gee-esque Audiobook) i'd give it
basically everything people hated about OG Florvaverse.
- a cohesive storyline
- better character development
- deez nuts lol
And was floraverse particularly edgy? I don't think we'd be going where every single character has an uber tragic backstory, obviously. But i wouldn't want to make it seem like a jarring tonal shift.

This is actually a fantastic premise. Will probably churn out some designs for it tomorrow.

One criticism though: let's just kill off Neon, or just have her be just another one-off side character like she was initially. I've grown to hate her so much that even if we recycle her into a good character I would probably just hate her out of reflex. I'm like the Pavlovian hulk when it comes to Neon lmfao
Biff.Well who would we have to replace her?
Biff.
I second this.
