Hey! Don't mean to break up the brunch art (and by all means, feel free to continue with it) but the moment i saw this thread was a thing, I wanted to do a thing I've been wanting to do for a while now
I know someone else has already made a jasmaby redesign but I wanted to try my hand at it too. They are now agender and asexual, since Glip doesn't know how to make that kind of character to save their life.

VERY VERY CUTE! As much as I love cis male drag queen Jasmaby, this version is great too! Love the haircut and color scheme especially. Your art style is darling.

Oh god they're so cute! I really like the LACK OF NECK and how they look like an actual feline critter. Really lovely work there!
And instead of commission work, I'm trying to redesign a Cozmo.
The outfit is a placeholder; not really into designing outfits much hence why his is plain but, anyone is free to add or subtract from it, of course.
Made his feet bigger, though cause... he's a bear. I really hate the weird anatomy of PK's stuff when large or burly creatures have tiny tiny limbs. (yes his other leg is hidden under the cloak i am just lazy)
i don't really like it but it's a start I guess!

I had this sitting in my folders alongside a dark saint Beleth (that I'm still fixing up) so I might as well share this now; it's @lainiwakuraa 's dewdrop bot from the early days of the thread. I drew it once before, and then at some point I went back and decided to redraw it again with a few tweaks here and there:
The dress design was based off of one I found when I was looking up references for drawing ball jointed dolls and I loved it so much I gave it to her.
Floraverse would be interesting if this little bot was (let's say as an audience surrogate to Floraverse's world) going on a journey to explore Hell and encountering the Angels and the Commanders, getting caught up in all sorts of shenanigans as they learn about the world. Just a thought.

If you're struggling to find that good "mystical" look you want to see in him, I suggest looking up similar themed characters you really admire and take inspiration from them. Say you liked Gandalf for example, you could figure out what it was about the character that impressed you--maybe it was more in personality and backstory than it was in his outer appearance. Facial expression and posture also helps a lot with this. Clothing doesn't have to give off the whole impression.
I'm blanking on a lot of examples, but another that quickly comes to mind is Dr. Strange, from either the comics or Cumberbatch's portrayal. Both Strange and Gandalf can look pretty plain if they lack the emotion, but if you add the magic to them they're pretty awesome.
You also have the roadblock of translating some of these "serious" traits into a cartoonish style, but that can be a fun and interesting challenge in of itself.
I don't know why I sperged so much on this. I'm probably just projecting my desire to draw, since I've been slacking lately. And I like bears.

I think you're thinking of deconstructingfloraverse.tumblr.com but Dingfield took down the tumblr for whatever reason. I found a reblog of one of their posts at least. Also, reading PK sperging the fuck out again was great.

Yes, my style is a little too 'soft' and 'cute' at times... but I strive every day to improve it in some way. There are some mystical characters or beings that come to mind, though admittedly not that many. Oracles and mystics are fascinating, but not a lot really warrant my attention as their designs tend to be a little dull and their personalities match. But, I understand what you're saying! I think I'll try again after some research! Thank you for your critique and suggestion!
It's okay, I like bears, too.
But those values and critiques were very good! They made sense... contrast is super important in images. It's a shame PK went apeshit over it and literally learned nothing from their studies...

Long time lurker here. I know I am basically looking for ass pats (I hope that doesn't make me pseudo-PK), but I have written a story loosely based on PK's floraverse, and mainly inspired by what was written in this forum. However, I added more factors like Biff being tired of not dying while his friends die, evil pacifistic martyr complex twink gay Orobas, comatose Amdusias, Bernard Buttfart's Beleth and Lilit, and almost everyone in this universe infected with "angel factor", which makes them become a mindless Lovecraftian monsters when the factor "explodes". Hence, the main characters all revolve around trying to subdue passerbys who have "exploded" and keep the city safe. Should I share that story with you guys? (also have not drawn anything because I suck at drawing. Sorry!)
