Redfall. - I'm not angry, just...disappointed.

Was it Bioshock that killed game writing by making people believe they can just have audio logs tell the story (while ignoring atmosphere and environmental storytelling)?
That was happening all the way back in System Shock 1 & 2 (so at least 1994 & 1999). System Shocks 2's ones were really good through and worked with the atmosphere and environmental storytelling.

Well, one of them was a troon.

To be fair, the only major character I can think of that's mentioned to be a lesbian in dialogue in the game itself was the villain and some of her coven. Which is a lot of characters relative to the minimal cast, but I didn't care too much because I spent that mission choking all of them out, and used Far Reach to throw Delilah off of a cliff.

Granted when you look into the notes and journals you find out that pretty much every woman is into women. Emily has a love letter that never specifies her lover's sex (even though the name is basically the word woman but y instead of the o), but I think I remember someone from the studio said Emily was supposed to be bi which is why they didn't specify. Billy Lurk has a letter from a female ex. Hell, Aramis Stilton is also gay, though that was more implied than the others being outright stated. For how small the cast of major characters is, the percentage that are some flavor of LGBT is insane.
Yeah I brought up the troon a few pages back. Figured he was a necrophile as he wants you to bring him a corpse. Nice character there, Arkane. Probably modeled after one of their own.

The entire coven might as well be written off as a lesbianic cult. I can't be certain but I'd think some of the witches in the museum mission spout lines about hating men, implying widespread lesbianism.

The funniest take away from the faggot plague infecting the Empire is that the royal bloodline is probably fucked. Population collapse in the Isles imminent. Hyperboreans in Morley, rise up.

Yeah but the amount of people who actually played System Shock is tiny. Bioshock however was played by every third rate journo.

Tbf, every witch coven is full of lesbians in popular media. It's just horny writers. In general lesbians being included is entirely coomerism, ESPECIALLY when it's an audience daughter surrogate that, god forbid, be defiled by a man.

Some of them definitely do. That being said I do remember in the last mission, you can find one in an abandoned building standing guard and she specifically mentions waiting on her male lover. I mean she's pissed but because the guy is late, not because he's a man. She actually spends a lot of time waxing poetic about how much she loves him. I found it weird but charming.

And then choked her out, but that's just business.

This might seem like a petty complaint given how shit the performance and bugs are but why are all the vampires wearing identical trench coats with popped collars?
fratboy vampires could've been a nice idea, but the game is like 10 years too late to ride the twilight/vampire diaries/true blood wave

Watched a couple videos about it, very generic and very basic co-op shooter, even without all the bugs and errors.

As someone mentioned earlier wokeness is very mild, although one thing cought my attention: during one of the missions, you rescue a priest. I have intially thought it was a male, since this is Arkane and some of their character models don't display sexual dimorphism. Turns out it is a woman, Eva Crescente and she is a local reverend.

Does Protestantism allows woman to become reverends, or is this some Arkane fantasy?

Do they allow tattoos, guns and talk of fighting though.

That was so hysterically edgy. Character poses to show off the tattoos in every single conversation.

Maybe in an ironic twist, the Bethesda game won't be the bug filled mess this time

*snickers* yeah right
if they backtrack on their anti-pc thing then i'm sure all loverslab and nexus people will vote for it as goty.
especially since they'll be able to use their mass effect sexmod thingies to do what bioware tried to sell themselves into and a bit more considering the weird BDSM plugins.

So THIS is next gen gaming. No AI, slideshow cutscenes, 30fps, exposition dumps and staged environments.
No aim assist on consoles, so gunplay is an absolute mess. Meanwhile on PC, it does have aim assist on keyboard and mouse for some fuckin' reasons, and that results in you popping headshots constantly like you're Billy the Kid or something.

No aim assist for controllers, but aim assist for mouse and keyboard instead.

How do you manage that?

How was Prey woke? It's been years since I've played it, but I can't really remember anything being woke about it.
The Tumblr tier characters designs, one black guy even had that skin condition where he has patches of white skin that Tumblr loves so much, the fact that if you listen to the audio diaries you'll find a lesbian couple, a gay male couple and if you pick a female Yu you are revealed to be a lesbian yourself.

The space station had a pretty diverse crew, but other than that it wasn't really Woke.

The priest for those curious.
