Really making good use of the little time left in office, I see. You know, since he's not going to be in office in a month, why doesn't he just do a big fuck you to Twitter and make executive orders specifically targeting them if he's so mad? Sure they'd get thrown out eventually, but it would be a pain in the ass to Twitter for at least a little bit, and isn't Twitter the only thing he's really mad about?

Well, this above anything else should prove that these budgets that people hold aloft are arbitrary. If 500b of the budget is going to be embezzled and so many people are already working on IOUs until they discharge(lol) the only people Trump's holding the feet to the fire are the same crooks that have funded the politicians that plug these insane numbers while we lose all but 2 encounters since the great wars. A little late, and a called bluff, but once again the cat is out of the box and Trump is blazing trail, as now a president threatening the bloated and unnecessary military budget is an option in the bank.

I will. In detail actually. This is the perspective of someone fluent in both the English and Chinese language, active on both sides of the GFW.

CPC official accounts are being mean to Trump.

Also after the covid trash, lots of CPC officials used their accounts to spread apologetic arguments on the Chinese state's behalf.

After the Russia boogeyman summoned by the retarded Democrats didn't work, the Trump administration decided to bring up a new one, which is China. I've been in and out of the country for many years, never have I see CPC officials engaging in autistic shit-slinging on Twitter in such a prolific manner. Biggest offender is 趙立堅 Zhao, who tweeted the "possibility of American soldiers bringing covid which was developed in a USA military lab into Wuhan military Olympics", which is a disproved retarded conspiracy. This moron is one of the several official CPC spokesmen. People in China who spreaded this shit were reprimanded. The difference here is wording, Zhao said there's a possibility. So Implied VS passing it on as fact.

Then on Axios, another high ranking CPC member Cui Tiankai was interviewed. He is the Chinese ambassador, which represents the state unlike Zhao. The interviewer pressed on Zhao's implications, Cui responded with "he is accountable for what he says and I don't need to disavow", effectively using an individualist argument when he belongs to a unitary party called the "United Front". The United Front is a composition of 8 Chinese parties, some are leftist progressive, some nationalist, current leader is the CPC which is nationalist. Basically, it's a collectivist party with an ideology based on collectivism (Chinese style Socialism, Xi Jinping thought). Quite interesting. Two things, people ignore individualism when it comes to Chinese officials which isn't smart, but Chinese officials conveniently making an individualist argument is stupid too.

Now, Twitter will mark accounts as "officially Chinese". I don't think any other country's official accounts are marked this way, besides the three big badies.

If you go to any pro-Trump base, such as the comments section of Fox News and boomer Facebook pages, find yourself an article about China or Russia, and you will see retards flinging shit. Arguments such as "230 is what allows Twitter to get away with hosting information presented by [country I don't like, China or Russia usually], so it should be revoked", then followed by something along the lines of misinformation and cyber-security. As if these boomers know anything about it.

To my understanding, Section 230 is what makes the internet fun, unlike Chinanet. Section 230 allows this site to exist. Without 230, Western Internet is defacto Chinanet, and will inevitably become the same thing or worse.

Basically, the host isn't accountable for what the users say as long as it's covered by the first amendment. I have rights to call someone I dislike a faggot nigger, and get called one in return. If any of the cows throw a hissy and conjure up some literary abomination of a lawsuit, Nool can tell them to fuck themselves and throw 230 at them. "I didn't say it, it's NaggotFigger1488" whatever, "go get him, oh and good luck finding him". Without 230, cows can just summon frivolous lolsuits and whoever runs the site must respond. This is an utter logistical and economical nightmare.

How does Chinanet work? Basically, if you have an audience of over 99, you are tangentially accountable for what the other people say. It is up to you to moderate speech with accordance to Chinese laws. This means no deliberate criticism of the government, no separatism, and a myriad of other gay shit such as harassment and even doXxxing from your little group. If there's offenders, you should warn them and retract what they say, and ban them if it's that bad. If a "rumour" you created spreads to over 500 people, the police might come and have a word with you. I know people who have been reprimanded this way. They check your phone for VPNs and you sign some shit saying you won't do it again. I heard this isn't enforced at all, which means the cops mostly won't even care, they will just look and go on with real crimes. Either way, it's gay, it's very authoritarian, it's incredibly Chinese. Look at how Singapore is ran too, very similar, very gay.

I think it's worse, because on Chinanet, they don't give a shit if we call Ethan Oliver Ralph a nigger or Dax Herrera a paedophile. In the first place, I understood the value of the statute but honestly thought Trump was trying to have the statute be actually enforced and was putting big tech on notice by threatening to make them and everyone else eat a lawsuit buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner-- I mean, that was the implication of his EO around the time he started the "REPEAL SECTION 230" ravings months ago.

I have no idea why he never bothered to actually litigate Twitter for censoring the communications of a federal official (or even get a surrogate to do it), and I have no idea why he's chosen to incinerate any goodwill he's had with even the military rank-and-file (since we know he's not exactly loved by the top brass) by holding up a defense spending budget in order to effectively sterilize the internet for an industry he has mutual bad blood with. I do get that he's probably trying to repeal 230 because he's a dumb boomer regarding the internet and anybody more knowledgeable that's whispering into his ear is probably just telling him that it's bad for his kind. But what he's doing now is profoundly idiotic and destructive, especially when he should have actually done anything he wanted done months ago.
