If getting rid of Section 230 really is as diabolical as it sounds, there needs to be a massive campaign against it like with SOPA. Section 230 needs reform. Specifically a repeal of the censorship protection section. g00gle, farcebook, twitter etc basically used their status as default platforms to elect Biden. I hope thats what Republicans are going for since a flat out repeal does not benefit them at all.

actually "the internet" still includes Usenet, alt. groups still exist but people prefer to use a couple of private companies. The "modern internet" is people thinking a couple of private companies are the internet, like once AOL and Compuserve were for many "the internet".

Im retarded and Null 100% considered this (Im too fucking lazy to read entire thread) but moving ownership to someone who is trusted and lives in the edgiest country can actually prevent this site from sinking. Kinda like with 4chan and Hiroyuki being an admin for I think 5 years now (tho France in this case is not ideal). For example I live in "alt-right ethnostate" with huge degree of internet freedom (at least compared to the west). Find someone like that, but again, someone who's trusted. That said if its just the matter of site hosting and some minor ownership stuff. Definitely can be done.

The great thing about the blue checkmarks is you can now sue Twitter instead of the blue checkmarks when they talk shit about you.
