Times like this you gotta cherish the moments that you had and thrive to make new ones, I never was that much of a poster here and never contributed much to any discussion, but I still had a great time nonetheless. And while it would be an autistic stretch to say I've met true friends here, it was great shitposting with you all.

Hope you're not totally salting the earth when 230 dies in case a legal workaround is discovered within a month or two. Law shit is messy and it wouldn't surprise me. Just take the site offline and keep the server dormant for awhile.
Legal work arounds aren't free. He's already got to shell out thousands right now with the protection in place. Bur right now he only has to fight the most dedicated and doing so should be relatively easy. With it gone people will me even more likely to file suit because it becomes that much easier to win by attrition. The issue with a blanket repeal of 230 is that the mega internet companies can afford the lawyers enough to bankrupt anyone who tries to sue them. Normal independent and small site operators end up being the ones bankrupted by people trying to sue them instead.

If anyone thinks this is good, they're fucking retarded. 230 is flawed, sure, but without it, you're basically giving corporations free reign to fucking glass the entire internet. This won't decrease moderation at all, it will ramp up so bad that eventually the most basic comment sections will be unfuckinguseable.

Think about review sites, where owners just start blanket suing them for stupid shit users post to get a payday. How much petty shit will come down. And Trump expects to pass this with no hearings? With a month to go at a historically legislative lull? A major process that is the cornerstone of the internet? I just don't see it unless everyone in Congress and the Senate goes, "I SMELL TOAST" and has a collective fucking stroke out.

I'm really not seeing him get his way.

And @Null, give us like a ten minute warning or somewhere we can congregate. We'll take this bitch to the deep web.

Remember that the worst case scenario almost never happens. Chernobyl didn’t contaminate the rest of Europe and the crew of the Apollo 13 didn’t die and they were much harder to figure out then some fucking politician throwing a hissy fit. But, if this is a case that the worst case scenario does occur then it has been fun.
