Yes exactly.Every public site will be fucked, so what's the alternative, everyone going back to IRC?

They won't last. Biden's gonna take over and deem them as far right conspiracy sites and shut them down.Gab, Minds, and/or Mewe. And Bitchute. Not a replacement by any means, but better than staring blankly at the wall while getting blackout drunk.
Where will the kiwi refugees go if this happens?
Move on to other prospects, I guess. I mean I'll miss this place if shit hits the fan as it's one of the last places where I can shittalk others, but I also wouldn't be losing too much sleep from it.Where will the kiwi refugees go if this happens?
Yeah, back during earlier internet activism the big boys (Reddit, Wikipedia, Youtube, etc.) were held in generally higher regard by most people. Now there's a sizable amount of people who think those places have a lot of bias (not saying it isn't true). Weird to think "a house divided cannot stand" would apply to the Internet. The problem would be presenting it in such a manner that reminds people who are pissed at mainstream social media that "Yes repealing this does more than nuke the websites you hate off the face of the Earth." Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. really have this coming. The problem is the scope of the change and the unintended effects.
The reapeal of section 230 isn't the threat of the feds coming down on the farms, its crazy litigious assholes armed with paperSerious question: how difficult would it be to just wipe the whole site off the clearnet and run it exclusively on Tor so that it's completely under the radar? No official owner, no legal entity that could be sued for it, just an onion site that's hosted god knows where.
There's shit that's patently illegal on Tor, right? All this site has to worry about is crazy litigious assholes armed with paper, which by comparison... well, they're not the feds.
Good point. Either way, 230's repeal is inevitable.Perhaps I've been reading the wrong websites but everything I've seen indicates that the NDAA will pass without any language regarding 230 in it at this time, there's some bills people are trying to float through Judiciary but none have even been voted on at this time. I think this is a little premature hoss
I imagine a similar destruction of the internet as caused by the net neutrality law failing.
