If Kiwifarms ends up shut down suddenly one day, I'll just do my hobbies as usual tbh, it does stink that Kiwifarms will get kaput, well. It's been nice talking and making art with you guys/gals at least. I'm just trying to be optimistic tbh.

Hopefully we are fine but if not, guess its 4Chan for now on, pity. I personally am not a fan of their site design but *sigh* fine, I guess I can deal with it, all to have some sort of freedom, am I right? Soon we are going to have to use older methods of communication because the government will have put a track on nearly everything digital.

They will gladly take your freedom and only give a 1/10 of the security you asked and you better smile and thank them because its not like you got the freedom anymore to complain.

A shame I didn't get to post much here... I enjoyed lurking the fuck out of this site and reading about shit that reminded me that most people in the world are crazy. Part of me wants to believe this thing will just fizzle out like SOPA and PIPA years ago, but shit's actually looking grim for once.
I'm here hoping that there'll be a successor to Kiwi Farms of some sort. Either that or we go back to IRC or some shit like that lol

But what do these tards think completely repealing it is gonna do?

Big media is going to use its horde of lawyers to sue anyone and everyone who pisses them off into oblivion. It's not going to help free speech, it's going to nuke it.

@Null have you looked into hosting the site's servers in another country. Granted, the Commonwealth ones will shut it down; but Encyclopedia Dramatica managed to survive after several closures.

Exactly, this is like curing cancer by chopping off the part of the body that has it instead of treating it. Not only there is a chance the cancer may have already spread beyond it, thus making the chopping pointless, but even if the person recovers, it has lost an important piece forever.
 
If KF shuts down, I won't know what the fuck is going on anymore. I literally have no other place from which I can gather news from unbiased sources. Despite everything that's gone on this year 2020 has been a very good year for me and I don't want to slide down again into that valley of apathy and anti-socialism.

At least in the short term, they more or less told him to go fuck himself. Apparently there's still bipartisan support for 230 in Congress, or at least they're not going to be pushed around by a lame duck using a defense bill as a club.

Racial slurs are the sort of thing that can be found to be "fighting words" or unprotected speech, but any cases I've seen with convictions upheld generally involved something more than just the use of a slur, for instance, extremely aggressive body language or, in one case, throwing a drink on someone and then using a slur on them, i.e. conduct that would itself constitute a violation of the law. So they'll usually throw in some kind of disorderly persons or harassment charge along with whatever else they can charge you with. "Fighting words" hardly exist any more, at least for the mere use of a slur. People are expected to be able to control themselves even if someone says dumb shit in their presence. This doesn't mean anyone is obligated to sympathize in the least when someone talks shit and gets hit though.

@Null If Kiwifarms goes dark will you be ending your mad at the internet podcast as well? I really enjoy your show and would do a subscription fee like Sam Hyde has for his videos. Surely other people feel the same. I was exposed to the farms after hearing you talk on an older Dick Show and you're by far my favorite person on the internet to listen to. Honestly the only show that's genuinely entertaining and not shilly.

Nevermind, just watched the Doomcast. :'(
