Report: EA Is Remastering The ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy At Long Last (Unconfirmed)

Can't wait for them to kill all the sex appeal.

Although they are more than welcome to remove E.D's camel toe

Disagree. The best way to play Mass Effect 3 is to not play Mass Effect 3 and instead play Saints Row IV, which was a better Mass Effect game than Mass Effect 3.

Unironically based and truth pilled. Also the boss in Saints Row IV at the beginning of the game is basically Trump before Trump happened.

Honestly, I think that the second ME2 game is completely and totally saved by its characters and world building, which kept me hooked from start to finish, and even led to some of the squadmates being amongst my favorite characters in all of gaming.

If I had to judge ME2 on its main story and plot, I'd rake it over the coals.

It's telling that ME2 is 80% fucking around in the galaxy with your crew of bros, and the last 20% no one remembers is the actual main story.

ME2 went out of its way to break the world building and lore established in ME1. The only thing holding ME2 together is the initial mystery of the collectors and that soon goes out the window on repeated playthroughs. Tons of key elements in ME1 are uprooted entirely for reasons. Thermal clips now exist to help your weapon cool down quicker but they had to take the cooling system out of weapons to make space for the thermal clips so everyone in the entire galaxy decided wholeheartedly to switch to this new limited ammo weapons overnight. Cerberus are a shady alliance black ops group except not really they are privately funded human supremecy group that are somehow the most well funded and secret organization in the galaxy despite their incredibly narrow goals and pool of supporters. The council won't send their fleet after Saren to avoid war with the Terminus Systems but the Terminus systems turns out to be one space station and 3 flavours of shitty raiders.

The characters I do like but the way they tie into the main (heh) story and game systems Is all kinds of broken. The Paragon/Renegade system in particular fucks you if you try to play the game pragmatically. It's either full Blue or full Red or you wasted time rescuing Miranda's Sister. Speaking of loyalty missions, they really only exist to pad out the game and while they are optional, there is very little game outside of them and crew dialogue on the ship is all but blocked until you do them. On the subject of padding, the mineral scanner. That its all. They took out the Mako and planet exploration but they let us fire probes at planets for hours on ends to frind out the borderline necessary ship upgrades.

Don't even get me started on how they fucked the gameplay.

ME2 is almost entirely loyalty missions. I did a run without loyalty missions or DLC once just to test it and the main story missions total less than 3 hours. It's ridiculously short plot wise.

Maybe that's a good thing though, the latter half of Mass Effect 3's plot gave us that incredibly gay and cringy anime ninja villain and the star child.

It's here. May 14.

They did more work than I was expecting, especially for ME1.

I noted this in the article.

You’ll also be able to wield any weapon you like, no matter what class you opt for - my biotic Shepard is so happy she’s not stuck with a pistol for the entire game.

I'm kinda mixed about this because on the one hand it allows for more versatility with your character but on the other it negates the point of the class system, which was a lot more important in the first game when you had to choose what build you wanted Shepard to have. Vanguards were super useful in the first game, and it feels as though they were limited to shotguns and pistols for balancing reasons. If there was a weapon you couldn't equip, you brought along a character who could use it, like Garrus with his sniper rifles for example.

Any word on what if anything was censored? I doubt Jack and Miranda's outfits made the cut.

ME1 is good and I like enough of ME2 that I'd probably replay it... but ME3 is such a trashfire from beginning to end that it kills any motivation to bother even trying to replay the series.

also:
BioWare quickly decided against creating new content or adding anything back in previously left on the cutting room floor in order to preserve the experience people remember.
Yeah, right. More like EA couldn't be assed to pay for anything like that and just wanted this cash grab to be as cheap as possible for them.
