Report: EA Is Remastering The ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy At Long Last (Unconfirmed)

thing is that creating dickish actions is hard, there's a fuckton of possibilities to be a cunt that it's just really, really expensive to animate and voice act it so they just went with the asshole for it's own sake type of cunt.
That's all choices though so even and possible especially if games scream at you that choices have consequences It's mostly the Life is Strange 2 route where you're still on rails but possibly have a different haircut. True choice kind of died when you had to animate and voice act shit and it wasn't just a string of text you went through. Another example would be Fallout and even there the early games didn't really change much but an ending slide and that was still more enjoyable than Todd Howard fucking around on stage telling you his games have thousands of endings because fuck Todd Howard anyway and at the very least the journey was enjoyable back then. The original Fallouts I mean, felt like I had to clarify.

I also enjoyed Andromeda, although I went in with zero expectations of it being anything but dogshit so I think that helped. The planet exploration and combat are actually quite good, if only there was more of the former. I also really enjoyed the final mission and how it tied in the various factions you encounter in the game, I also liked how all your Squadmates join you for the final fight, It's something I felt the the main trilogy should have done at somepoint, especially in 3.
Andromeda probably wouldn't have shit the bed if it was a small scale story about building a colony in the Terminus systems or Attican Traverse. No Kett, no massive colony ships that immediately break world-building just by their very existence, no knock-off Normandy.

MGS V base-building mechanic combined with Rebel Galaxy space travel is close to what I'm thinking of.

Don't forget to snag some essential mods off Nexus. Making the Nomad go faster is important, and I'm sure other people have their own suggestions.

Pretty symbolic of Bioware having to appeal to nostalgia to the times people used to like them.

"Hey guys, remember when we were at the top of our game? And you guys didnt despise us? Dont we miss those times? Our investors surely do."

but, of course, also symbolic on how Bioware is more than willing to mess with the games that helped them to be as popular as they were back on their peak like removing Miranda's butt because leftists cried about it (but male fanservice is A-okay).

Is the remaster going to be great? Meh...I already played this trilogy recently with enhancing mods so I doubt there will be anything different but it speaks a lot when Bioware bends the knee today when back then they just ignored conservative boomers yelling at them for the sex scenes. Oh and of course, they change that but retconning the ending of 3 into something satisfying is "getting on the way of creative liberty"...yeah, pretend we fall for that one, dip shits.
I wont be buying since I already have it all on origin

Probably backtracking a bit in subject but Renegade Shep has always been far more fun to play than boy scout Shep, especially because at times it just veers from the course of him being an asshole into him being a full-on psychopath.

I remember trying my hand at a "paragade" playthrough once and the difference between paragon and renegade options are so drastic it makes Shep look like a loon with a severe case of Bipolar Disorder.

I'll never forget that mission in Mass Effect 2 where Shepard has to squeeze information out of this duct rat guy and he literally just beats the guy to the ground and puts a boot to his neck just because he felt like it (if you choose renegade). Even Garrus is just like "what the fuck, dude?"

It just occurred to me that some of the best shit in the Citadel DLC is going to make no sense without multiplayer.

I once ran a tech armor Turian like that, just to see if there was something to it and set up right, it wasn't bad. You can do something similar with Krogan Shaman and be more survivable. Never saw those Asari, of course the Drell Adept would take the grenades, Reave and Cluster grenades was a better combo than anything the Asari Vanguard could do. Kicking the air was just a noble Drell pass time between rounds. Like Krogan headbutts.

I played Renegade for the first time last year (I usually play good characters in RPGs), and it was probably one of the most gratifying playthroughs I ever had because you got to brutalize the more annoying characters. I didn't realize how much I hated a few of the minor characters and all you can do as a Paragon is lightly threaten them, if even that. It was a lot of fun playing an angry asshole who won't put up with other people's shit.

Interestingly enough, I was able to game the system by making mostly renegade responses but playing paragon for the major decisions (letting the Rachni live, saving the Feros colony etc) so in essence I was playing an asshole who actually saves people's lives.

You don't even need to play Paragade to see Bipolar Shepard. Paragon's pretty funny in Mass Effect 2 because a few of the options result in Shepard actively threatening people in ways he never does in the first or third games, like that one bit where he physically assaults the officer for charging the quarian with vagrancy. There's also this option that ends up looking more Renegade than the actual Renegade option.

Given that it's Paragon he's probably bluffing, but even so it's hilarious that this is supposed to be the goody-two-shoes option.

Replaying the trilogy myself, and really Bioware should only be touching three things:
1. Unfuck ME1’s scant autosaves, and have better organization for buying, selling, and comparing gear.
2. Unfuck ME1 Mako.
3. Update a few really bad ME1 textures. Just look at the elcor ambassador for an example of what I mean.

Don’t touch anything else. Fuck these 4k fags, the game looks pretty good as is, and it’s a decade old.

Stumbled upon these comparison vids.

They really fucked up the lighting here, which is a shame because ME1 and 2 had some immaculate lighting effects that really brought out their respective artstyles and helped them age better than most of their contemporaries. The use of shadows in particular always stood out to me, the way characters would either be cloaked in it or the world would be covered in darkness to evoke a certain atmosphere and feeling. The remasters look washed out, which ironically makes it look worse despite the enhanced textures, plus the shadows are flat out broken in a few scenes which damages the mood.

At first I thought the irritating lens flares would be the worst of it, but looking at this now it's going beyond that.
