The saddest part is that when the actual model cosplayed as Jill & did live streams, she looked better than the in-game version. Capcuck literally went out of their way to uglify her.

She’s cute but like with all their faces scans, it’s either uncanny valley are just plain ugly.

Claire’s face model is adorable while her in the game is the stuff of nightmares.

Mods work fine with the GOG version of the OG trilogy, right? I mean mods for the actual game and total conversion stuff.

If the opening is in colour then that should be the so called director's cut game. The OG RE 1 was released twice: first as RE 1 and then later as a so called director's cut version. The director's cut had three modes I think. One is an easy game, one the normal and lastly an advanced game which was the "Director's cut": the game has new riddles and also some other changes. For example one of the plaques you need to advance is cut in half and you need to find both parts. Also in Director's cut Jill has not the same uniform then in the first Re 1.

Too bad the new soundtrack sounded like literal buttholes.
There are Gamergaters with less commitment than this.

Nigga, we done. She ugly, you and others dont mind it while others do, lets agree to disagree.

Moving on...

I wonder if this is a RE engine limitation, I mean, we'd like to believe that it is perfect but every technology has its limitations and I believe perfect replication of faces is something we are still yet able to achieve.

I mean, the RE engine is technically 7 years old by now, like it or not, what it did that was once impressive just isnt anymore.

OR you know, Capcom doesnt to make ladies too pretty, whatever the one reading this wants to believe

It’s not just the women either as Leon looks like a coomer insomniac in 4make.

They raped Ben in 2make willfully. Claire looks like a skinwalker. Annette is just a tranny. Even Leon looks uncanny valley with some facial expressions. Luis is a dumpster spic.

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle of a shitty engine and creative decision. SH2make reeks of faggoty creative decisions for all the character models.

To clarify, the GOG release appears to be the basic, non-Director's Cut version of the game except with an uncensored opening and auto-aim. There's no difficulty selection or arrange mode available. It's a fine trip down memory lane, while also reinforcing just how superb the REmake is by comparison.

Too bad the new soundtrack sounded like literal buttholes.
Thankfully, there are no clown trumpets in the basement of this release. GOG is using the original soundtrack instead of the ass one. I wish REmake kept the OG basement theme with the sharp, almost grindy sounding chords.

I love REmakes versions of the old music but I think they made a few a bit too remixed to be instantly recognizable. Particularly the first floor theme. Although the second floor theme is fantastic.

There are no attractive female characters in the new demake games. This has got to be one of the weirdest hills to die on, and that's saying something coming from the capcom fanbase.

You seem to be under the impression it's the opinion being mocked, and not the retardedly long period of time spent voicing it.

You seem to be quite upset for someone who supposedly isn't bothered at all, especially for "an opinion that isn't mocked"
People aren't going to stop being upset at something they're justified for doing so. I have no clue where that idea came from
"Oh, things have been shit for nearly 10 years now sweetie, why are you still complaining? That's just how things are :feels:"
Then you wonder why the video game industry is dying and major companies are going under
But hey, I guess that's

Also, if you wanna keep it Vanilla, you can just play the Japanese dub to keep the authenticity.

This is where you're right, based even, for being a Pimperor.

This is where you become the same schizo that the critics of the uglification are accused of being.
I’m gonna be honest, I genuinely thought that was a dude at first. Honestly capcom didn’t really have a great face model to work with in the first place.
Cute dude, NGL /sneed

Honestly, I agree. She's got strong Russian female genes & it shows, most Russian girls just look similar. I blame Capcom for going with one.
That said, Sasha Zotova still ugly. Even at the very least when compared to what Capcom did to her. I think if they just stylized her face & design a bit like they did with OG RE3, instead of chasing realism, this problem might not have been that severe.

For what it's worth, there are mods that let you play as Julia Voth & Sienna Guillory. Hell, she looks so much like Milla Jovovich (also Russki) that there's an Alice mod too.

An opinion doesn't need my mockery when it has you expressing it.

I picked up the OG versions of 1, 2, and 3 from GOG earlier this week. I've beaten the first game with Jill and am currently working my way through with Chris.

Some things I've experienced so far with RE1:

- The opening FMV is in color and uncensored.

- Both scenarios are easy and there doesn't seem to be any option to opt for a harder difficulty. I'm a little bewildered here, because I distinctly remembered struggling with the directors cut as a child, and before that, the original long boxed PS1 release that had no auto-aim.

- Knife cancelling still works and is just as game-breaking as having analog movement in the HD versions of REmake and Zero.

- I've gotten my puzzles mixed up with the Remake on multiple occasions. In my Jill playthrough, I was running from one end of the mansion to the other, thinking I needed two seperate pieces of sheet music to solve the Moonlight Sonata puzzle. The solution in the original was to just pick up the item and use it on the piano.

-For some reason I don't need ink ribbons to save as Jill, but it's needed for Chris. Was that always a thing?

I'm currently in the underground cavern with Chris. This is a really dangerous area in the REmake but in the OG, you can stunlock all of the Hunters to death with a knife. Even without the knife, it seems that the game provides enough ammo to kill every enemy.

I'm happy to be able to replay the original again. I don't love it by any stretch of the imagination, but it does give me a greater appreciation for the REmake. It really is the gold standard for how a game should be updated.
The lack of difficulty is possibly because remake introduced a hard mode while the original does not. You might just be used to a tougher game?
