Anyone defending this by saying it looks cheesy and silly like the games is probably a shill. It looks more like a crappy asylum or syfy movie than any of the old b-movies the games were referencing.

It really looks like they’re going for the Walking Dead zombie soap opera crowd instead of the horror crowd, right down to the CW-tier actors. To be honest, I’d prefer it if Capcom gave the rights to Blumhouse and told them to make a low budget horror movie about cops fighting zombies in a big mansion for 90 minutes.
The people that call this a “faithful adaptation” piss me off. Probably shouldn’t bother me so much, but I wouldn’t call changing the race of the character of Japanese and French descent to black very faithful and just fucks with the lore.

Oh yeah and I gotta mention that journalists are absolutely slurping the cock of the writers of this garbage heap.

TBF to Asylum movies, they are the modern B movies. Honestly, the difference between modern shitty syfy movies and 80s B movies is that they now use digital cameras instead of film. The stories being told are still dumb dreck.

Of course they are, its diverse, therefore for them, that means good

Having Facebook involved in any way, shape or form with anything is like having the CCP involved. Shit is getting censored and changed to their liking.

Fuck Facebook
Who wants to bet the "whislteblower" who is currently crusading against Facebook was responsioble. that bitch sounds like one of those Karens who want to censor everything fun.

I didn’t even think her performance was bad…
I absolutely hated her performance. Some of the line delivery is terrible, I have no idea how anyone can think she did okay.

not only did they fuck up Jill's visual design from the new face to clothes, even her dialogue is bad, both the writing and the performance.

I regret buying RE3R so much, should've preordered RE8 or bought DMCV instead.

Honestly, I'm just glad I never pre-ordered RE3 Remake back in 2020.

I bought it on a discount and it was a fun game to play on some slow afternoon but that's about it. The issues with Jill aside, the biggest flaw of RE3 Remake is that it's obviously a glorified story DLC for the RE2 remake.

On an unrelated note, I've always wondered what the early RE4 build that eventually became Devil May Cry 1 would've looked like had they kept the Resident Evil angle.

From what I can tell looking at concept art it seems like Devil May Cry is pretty dang similar to what that version of RE4 was going to be, just the story relating to Umbrella instead of demons, although from what I understand the emphasis was on guns with little or no sword fighting, also Spencer was going to be a big, beefy dude instead of sickly old guy in a wheelchair.

What I would give to hop into an alternate dimension to play both the "stylish" and "fog" versions of RE4.

I guess that really does sum up it's flaws, but it's not even glorified dlc; it's dlc stretched into a game, which is worse when you think about it.

I wish they'd of given us Akuma mode for REmake2 instead of the anemic title REmake3 turned out to be.

The main character was also going to be named Tony Redgrave.

I did the same thing as well.

I wanted to give RE3R a shot even with all the negative shit people were saying about it because I wanted to form my own opinion of it instead of going with the crowd. I still bore the complaints in mind and as such didn't want to buy it at full price so I bought it on a discount very recently and after completing it's...meh...just meh.

I can't even think of anything stand out it did compared to the original or even RE2R, it felt much more generic compared to what came before it.

I'll give it this at least, the beginning of the game (the street/substation area) was probably the best part and felt the truest to the original.

Nemesis was the worst part, I wanted something akin to Mr X again, not some scripted annoyance that literally goes down with a single hand grenade.

If there’s one moment that I genuinely enjoyed in the game it was the first rooftop nemesis fight. How they go from something so good like that, to fucking licker dog nemesis is a mystery.

I know its a serious case of gameplay and cutscene segregation but it always bothered me how, canonically, our heroes are never bitten and infected with the T-Virus in any way imaginable.

Think about that. We are suppose to buy Chris, Jill, Leon and Claire etc were never bitten or scratched ONCE on their entire ordeals. The only time someone gets infected is Jill on a cutscene.

Zombie games just have to assume that you are playing this perfectly somehow unless it has some justification like that you are immune or something (like in L4D) or actually bringing it up (like Dead Rising).

Its just a suspension of disbelief with had to buy, sure, but looking back...wow, it starts to become absurd once you begin to think about it.

I always thought Mr X was the "prototype" for them to perfect Nemesis upon and at first it seemed just that. Nemesis was faster, had a longer combo strike (so if he gets you, its gonna leave a mark) and he was very unpredictable. Turning your back and running either caused him to leap right in front or to throw his tentacle to drag you right back to him. Technologically they had no excuse. Its like they had that genius part in the city and then were like "eh, we are bored, lets turn him into a xenomorph now".

It all went downhill from there.

Eh, it's a gameplay concession in most cases, since there's not much push to have a hard time limit in most zombie games in general. Outbreak is the only game I can think of that had a virus mechanic, and you can kinda-sorta put RE4 on the list if you're willing to count Ashley and Leon having to purge Plagas near the end. In-game, having a hard timer from infection would completely change both the gameplay and the storyline to something far more bleak, and really seems like it would work best if you're playing a RE game where you're not anyone who's already important to the overall plot.

Either that or these random herbs can cure all injuries, including viral infection.

So did Operation Raccoon City, its just that no one played that game.

This is my assumption is that the herbs have super good healing abilities, including cleaning out the t virus infection, provided it's in a bite or something, since the characters of Outbreak got infected through other means and before they were even aware they were, that's why herbs are not alone to cure it.

RE7 seemed to point to that with green herb fluid seeming to be able to even reattach limbs until well... RE8 kind of changed things.

But if you read between the lines, the herbs are native to the Arklay mountains, Umbrella chose to have a base of operations there, maybe Umbrella became so big as a pharmaceutical company because they were harvesting these herbs with amazing healing abilities? That's never outright stated but it makes a lot of sense, maybe they can't reattach limbs but heal cuts, scratches and bites really quickly? RE's world is a world of all sorts of crazy biological stuff, so a super healing herb isn't too far fetched in context of the story.

I think that there's something like a 10% immunity rate for the T-Virus, could be that the player characters are lucky enough to be part of that 10%. I don't know if Nemesis infects Jill with regular T or some variant.

I think thats why the T-Virus ceased to be a thing in the RE universe, because one might ask "where is the T-Virus and why no one uses it anymore". The answer is simple, as a biological weapon, the T-Virus is obsolete. There are vaccines, cures, drugs and treatments for the virus at this point in the RE universe. You can easily get cured if you get to professional help in time. Hence why the T-Virus just kind of faded from the bio-terrorism scene, besides, zombies, compared to other BOWs, are rather inneffective as bio-weapons. They are slow, clumsy, literally brain dead and are only significantly dangerous on bigger groups.

It only got as bad as it did in Raccoon City because they didnt know what they were dealing with, but after that event, I think almost everyone knows what the T-Virus is and the zombies.

There are more powerful BOWs out there that you can use. Ironically, the T-Virus and Zombies became obsolete compared to the threats that came after, its almost symbolic.

I think Nemesis infected Jill with both T-Virus and Nemesis parasite or the presence of the parasite in Nemesis made his strain of T-Virus more potent.

I've also heard people make the argument that none of the playable characters in the classic Resident Evil games actually got infected by regular enemies and that it's just a case of gameplay being separated by story. I personally subscribe to that theory.
