The reason why I noped out of REMake 2 was because of the lack of saving throws. Struggling out of a zombie's grasp IS a good use of QTE.

I guess the real question is how strong would a zombie realistically be? Because they sometimes are pathetically weak and other times strong enough to tear open someone's belly with easy. On one side, their mental blocks would be gone so they would actually be stronger than your average living, but they are slowly decaying corpses so that muscle muscle would atrophy to the point the extra strength would fade away rather quick. Since the T-Virus zombies are more fresh in comparison to a TWD zombie, I imagine they would have enough fresh muscle to be relatively strong.

Sure, ultimately its a gameplay thing, but its something I always wandered about zombie media with zombies grabbing you either being an annoyance or a death sentence depending on the brand.

At least REmake 3 had the emergency dodging, someone with Jill's training would know how to escape the grasp of an assaultant before they could grab her.

That kind of reminded me, in the originals, they would step on the heads of crawling zombies that grabbed you after bitting your leg a few times. In the remakes, they just struggle free...I know the latter is more realistic but it was more satisfying seeing these rotten assholes getting their heads stomped after biting a chunk of your health away.

Whiny WtRC Wesker is somehow worse than Netflix' nigga Wesker. Why do they keep treating the man like this??

He is a tall blond genius white chad of a man. Only thing missing is the blue eyes. There is your answer.
Something I'd love to see Capcom do and they'd probably never even entertain the notion of, would be a compilation that's fairly cheap and easy to make while also being a guaranteed seller as well.

The compilation could be called "Resident Evil: The Early Years" or something and would be a compilation of ports for the first few games in the series, moreso the original PS1 versions as opposed to their remakes.

Namely, these would be the five games that would be up for play when you start the game.

Resident Evil: Director's Cut - Dual Shock Edition
Resident Evil 2 - Dual Shock Edition
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Resident Evil: Survivor
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X

However, I'd add a lot of bonus hidden content as well that can be unlocked.

The bonus content could be both typical things like a gallery to read files and view concept art and CG stills or FMV's and hidden games like the Saturn port of RE1 with the Battle Mode and the OG RE1 soundtrack and the N64 port of RE2 with the EX files and the option for funky colored blood.

I'd even up the ante by having the last unlockable games being ports of Dino Crisis 1 and Dino Crisis 2 and use that as a way to test the waters for a potential remake or something.

Basically, it'd go like this.

RE1: Director's Cut, RE2, RE3, Survivor, and Code Veronica X are all available for play at the start.

RE1 Saturn, RE2 N64, and Resident Evil: Gaiden, along with the first two Dino Crisis games would be unlocked as hidden games.

Maybe add in Dead Aim and Dino Stalker if they don't take up too much space.

If you beat all the games on the disc including the hidden ones, you can watch Biohazard: 4D Executor in the FMV gallery or something.

Since it'd just be porting or emulating a bunch of 90's/very early 2000's games, I'd say all the games could fit on a PS4 disc fairly easily.

Kind of autistic, I'll admit. But it'd work as a quick budget title that could make some quick money for Capcom at the very least.

Ngl, I would pay some good buck for that (assuming it wasnt just shitty emulation).

6 is far from being the worst IMO, it sucks mostly because it does away with the cliffhanger of 5 and then procedes to retcon 80% of the franchise. Wesker is fucking wasted also.

For me it goes 5>4>2, then 6 and 1 tied, then 3. 3 is just fucking boring, theres not enough schlock. Niggas straight up tried to rip off Day of the Dead sometimes.
That's exactly why 6 is the worst, as silly as it sounds I was legit kinda invested in the lore of why this franchise was so different from the games. To just out and out fuck it up was really disappointing. And from a technical level most of the fights suckkk. They are edited so choppy and rushed.

Why is 4 so high? it has a great ending fight for sure, but the first half feels more like a shitty zombie ripoff in a lot of ways.

One is not that bad. Not as balls to the wall entertaining as 2 or 3, but its arguably the most professional besides 5.

3 as the worst? HOW?! Its mad max with zombies and jedi force powers! Get your head on straight man! lol

I admittedly dont see that many zombie movies but I have a real soft spot for 2 and 3. 2 is my favorite for the humor and production value alone.

Im somewhat entertained by the fact 6 was edited in a blender and every fight scene has 120 cuts. Its just such a baffling horrible decision I cant help but smile.

You kidding me? Did you forget about the 17 minute long opening sequence with the Alice clones and the black hole explosion? Alice and the coin shotgun? The crazy amount of torches everywhere even with daylight? The shower with water sounds but no water? 4 is great.

I agree. 1 is probably the closest the franchise got to an actual good movie, even tho its just a mediocre zombie flick.

You gotta rewatch 3 my man, it wastes too much time on shit characters with no schlock and nothing fun happening on the screen.

Tbh, I'm honestly surprised that Capcom didn't at least try it at least once, given how many times they've done compilation ports of older games back in the day. Heck, they even still do it with things like the Devil May Cry HD collection on PS4 or the RE1 remake and Zero on the same disc for PS4 (and prior to that, PS3)

Given the shitty state of the RE franchise in the post-RE6/pre-RE7 and RE2 remake era, you'd think Capcom would've done it for the quick cash at the very least. It would've been a nice way to promote the RE2 remake back in 2017-2018 or something and to show fans they wanted to return to horror more.

3 always mesmerized me, perhaps its concept rather than the execution. A desert setting was never used to its full potential in a zombie apocaylpse idea.
So you're saying that an RE game set in the southwest and featuring zombies, mutated horned toads, and skinwalker-like enemies is a good idea.

Because it sure as fuck sounds like a good idea. Capcom, if you're listening, make this shit happen.

Isn't that called Fallout: New Vegas? Got your feral ghouls, uh... mutated Jackson's chameleons, and frumentarii skulking around every corner.

I'm gonna dl the outbreak games to play on an emulator, should I skip the first one and just grab file 2 or are they different enough games to warrant playing both?

File 2 has a few improvements over #1, but both are absolutely worth a playthrough.

The movie was a decent idea but not as a RE movie. I legit could see a comic of this, about a group all packed into vehicles driving through the desert to find a safe haven while having to face both the undead and human threats.

Giving Nemesis a backstory beyond "BOW with a personal vendetta" still makes me unreasonably mad.
It's not even a personal vendetta, he's literally programmed and conditioned to kill S.T.A.R.S. members and anyone or thing in his way.

Sometimes the enemy doesn't need a deeper story than "I want you dead".

Recently begun replaying the RE1 remake again as part of the "Origins HD Collection" and honestly, while I still think it's kinda strange that they kept a few of the weirder flaws of RE1, it's still very much a great game.

I still find it odd that they kept certain elements of RE1 despite all the other changes, most notably Chris having less inventory spaces than Jill, but it's no biggie.

The "best" part is how they cast a minority actor to "embody" Leon only to have him treated as a comic relief bossed around by Claire who is somehow more competent than him, which is white feminism 101.

Woke casting, not even once!
Zero interactions with Ada, rip Aeon fans
