The funniest part about lefty troons sperging about Resident Evil is that the wealthy evil elites in that franchise tend to be of the Eternal Anglo persuasion more than anything else.

It's kind of hard to play the "muh Anti-Semitism" card when most of the big-name wealthy elite villains in the franchise are either college educated WASP types (Derek Simmons), vaguely Germanic blonde superhumans (Albert Wesker, Karl Heisenberg) or old money British aristocracy (Spencer, Marcus, the Ashfords)

People tend to forget that Umbrella was a British company that was founded by wealthy members of the 20th Century English gentry.

Families like Spencer or especially the Ashfords are kind of vaguely flavored or possibly inspired by the Rothschilds, who are Jewish, but the troon was actually specifically talking about Simmons and "The Family" from RE6 as being the Anti-Semitic plot point, which Simmons can be a Jewish name, but it can also not be, as for Spencer and Ashford, though there may be vague thematic similarities to the Rothschilds, they're still clearly WASP types, in fact the Ashfords, despite being British, are vaguely implied to have Nazi ties and in fact originally Capcom toyed with the idea of making Umbrella a full on Nazi organization, which the troon doesn't even seem to be aware of surprisingly enough.

Either way old money elites certainly don't have to be Jewish and conspiracy theory tropes don't have to be Anti-Semitic either, it's just that the waters have been muddied in recent years and people now associate one thing with the other.
 
I’m almost finished with umbrella corps and on the 2nd to last level and these bloodshots are kicking my ass. If you’re too close to them they can one hit kill you. SP DNA hunter fucking sucks.

I’m still powering through this trash though.

In other news, the Resident Evil 4 HD Project is coming out on February 2 after 8 years. The dedication this dude has shown in not only updating every single texture but also making them all accurate to the original is pretty crazy.

 
I fucking did it. I finished umbrella corps lads. I finished something so many people didn’t finish, and for good reason.

Anyway, outbreak file 1/2 arrived. Have already played the first 3 scenarios in file 1.

Note that there is extra scene/monologue for each stage in Outbreak when the character you play as is their stage.

for example, Yoko has extra dialogue in the RE2 lab stage. Kevin has extra scene in the RPD stage.

At least he is okay with it, as soon as you get to the church the story completely falls apart with what Saddler's goals are supposed to be.

Agreed, interesting set up but once it's revealed what's going on the whole thing is silly and has nothing to do with the rest of the series storyline.

Playing all the games back to back last year really made it clear how much a final confrontation with Umbrella and Spencer was being set up and how much RE4 veering off from that just doesn't really work.

I mean Capcom has re-released RE4 so many times certainly they've got to realize that people are probably a bit sick of it and RE4 Remake needs to be significantly different, right? If it actually turns out to be Leon infiltrating Spencer castle I'd shit a solid gold brick.

Though unfortunately one issue with that would be the fact that they skipped a Code Veronica remake, which heavily sets up the whole "founders of Umbrella" thing.
 
Shinji Mikami is kind of an idiot when it comes to stories. He is currently on the record for expressing that he dislikes how trashy and rushed RE4's story was. Despite how generally campy most of Resident Evil has been up to that point anyway. Despite currently working on another game which is most definitively "not a horror game" despite using horror as a backdrop (Ghostwire: Tokyo).

I know he's more or less the daddy of Resident Evil as a franchise, but he's had some pretty dumb takes over the years. This one isn't any different.
