Jill's face in REmake 3 is weird, it looks similar to her face in REmake, but obviously different, so this creates a huge continuity flaw, are REmake and REmake 3 literally supposed to be the same universe? Then why does she look different?

Another odd thing, REmake has a file directly reference Alfred Ashford, so if Capcom never remakes CV we're left with a huge gap in the story for newer fans that only play the remakes.

I would almost forgive Capcom for making a full 3D RE-REmake, it'd be pretty cool to see the Spencer mansion in the RE engine in fact and REmake in HD unfortunately has some areas looking more pixelated than they should (not to mention if you're playing in 16:9 it's stretched and not the right aspect ratio, though thankfully 4:3 is an option).

So yeah, I think another remake of the first game would be a cromulent enough idea provided it was more like the quality of 2 REmake and not 3 REmake.

Easily her personality. Face, I can get over. They made her act like a teenage girl in 3make.
That feeling when Moira and Sherry acted more mature than the seasoned S.T.A.R.S. veteran.

Unless they re-remake RE1 then as far as I know it's canon.

Capcom creating continuity errors and plotholes in my favorite games?

For the most part, yeah, but there is the vague implication that while some version of the events of the mansion incident happened obviously, is it necessarily exactly what we see in REmake?

It works better with RE2 Remake, but there is still a change in art style and they removed the group photo of S.T.A.R.S. team members, so we never see Chris, Wesker, Jill, Barry. Rebecca etc, just Brad, but in RE3 remake Jill looks different and if you wear her "classic costume" it looks different than in REmake.

Just a little weird but it's not as dramatic as the difference between REmake and the original versions of RE2 and RE3 and those were all the "canon" versions at one time and one can still look at it that way if you choose to.

Just one of those "video game" things we have to have suspension of disbelief for, but it gets weird that CV would still have to be canon even in the REmakes continuity given it's story importance but since there is no REmake of CV yet there's massive gap in graphical, style and tone with the other games, I can imagine for younger fans it really standing out and being awkward, I mean I love the original CV, but it's definitely cheesy by today's standards, like Steve's Canadian pronunciation of sorry as "sorery".

Which got it worse: Nu-Jill's face or personality?
Resunoit hit the nail on the head when they said she acts like a teenage girl. I really miss her more serious personality from the original game. Also not a fan of the new voice at all. Remember her opening monologue? You can't even recognize the character now. Then again, have RE characters ever been consistent between games?

The worst part about Jill's new face was all the simps on Reddit saying it wasn't fair to criticize it since her face was modeled after a real person.

Simp all they want, it looks nothing like her.

In fact, she looks more like Rain Ocampo when Michelle Rodriguez played her in the live action movies.

They also removed Mortar Guy. R.I.P.

The more I think about it, the more I think Capcom, Flagship, and Mikami weren't sharing all their notes with each other so we got the plotline we currently have.

Alexia did nothing wrong, she knew Steve's aggressive Canadian-nes had to be stopped at all costs.

They kinda have, but in a shonen hero kind of way.

Dare I ask, but do they feel the same about Rebecca? Because she was modeled after a real person and I vague remember people criticizing her as looking too anime/moe.

Which was just a stupid excuse because Jill's original design was also modeled after a real person, model Julia Voth. The same could be said for every Resident Evil character (Claire's original appearance was modeled directly after her voice actress, for instance).

Huh. Did not know that.

huuuh... And it was released on March 22nd... That's before May 16. And development takes time so they would have done this earlier... What I'm saying is that the Jill model is at best 16 in REmake.

Finished up RE6...Christ what a shitshow. Its not only the worst RE game I played but one of the worst games I've ever played period. Even parts where they tried to do something interesting or unique were so poorly thought out and implemented in such a ham fisted manner that it ends up being a complete dumpster fire on every level.

It actually makes my head hurt thinking of how much money must have gone into the development of this game compared to the quality of the end product.

Somehow though its still one of the best selling RE games of all time (according to the internet anyway). I guess RE fans will consoom any old shit that's put in front of them :stress:

RE6 did a lot of weird shit that it's hard to know if they were intended to be some sort of kitsch meta-commentary on action games, like a new take on the B-movie thing.
Maybe it's because I played the whole thing high as balls and was reading too much into every detail, but I found that weirdness thoroughly entertaining.

So SF6, RE4R, and DD2 were all announced. I’d assume the entire leaked list was real then and we are getting a game for Hunk at one point.

Would be a nice change up.

It's usually packaged as part of a bundle and fairly often sold at a discount, so that might explain why it sells so well. It's Mercenary mode is pretty solid too. Then there's all the stuff for PC only like the L4D characters and maps.

I'd like a Hunk game, but I fear it'll be a lot of playing through shit we've already seen, like his 4th survivor scenario, and giving him a backstory that nobody really wants. Especially if they decide to try nd expand on who 'Bella' was and why he reacts to that name.

I still can't get over what they did to nu-Jill's face. She looks like an ftm.

Best reason to call RE3 Remake the best/worse RE2 DLC and an excuse to use Ada mods since Nu-Jill isn't Jill. Also helps with setting in that one scene where Nemesis doesn't kill Jill, dead to rights when it's not exactly Jill he's got grabbed by the head.

Something about Mikami's hatred for cute innocent types. He's more into the "strong independent women" types which it sounds completely bizzare and all too familiar on a certain type of people, if you want the reason why Rebecca wasn't added in much after RE1, there it is I guess. But at the same time makes Mikami sound like a massive hypocrite when he made Jill "Easy Mode" in RE1 and put in Ashley for RE4.

I could of sworn he hated Ashley too.

A Hunk game would be fucking awesome, so long as they played it like a RE equivalent of Doom. No dialogue from Hunk, some basic objectives, and plenty of monsters to kill and traps to avoid. Not a Hero and the other DLC for RE7 with the old man punching things to death were both pretty sweet.

Even during the RE2 era Umbrella pretty much considered him a living legend since he always got the job done, and since he's a mercenary doing a job for cash I figure Blue Umbrella would snap him up quick to do what he did for Umbrella: kill BOW's, extract dangerous items, be they objects, data, or personnel, and stay alive afterwards.
