6 it's just a tonal 180 of 5. And considering he's had that storyline 4 times before in the OG, Umbrella Chronicles, Revelations, and 5. Losing his team one more time shouldn't break him like that. Like Chris, that's a normal Tuesday for you, fuck off and do your god damn job.
The ‘Chris loses his whole team’ meme has been blown massively out of proportion.

6 is the first time in the series that Chris is the captain of an entire squad, and all of them die under his watch. The second time in China this is largely due to him rushing into a situation, hunting the giant snake, regardless of orders (which is totally in line with RE5 where he ignores the BSAA’s withdrawal demands).

There’s no equivalent to this in any of the other games mentioned, unless you want to hold him responsible for the Stars Bravo team (most of whom died before he was even on the scene).

That's also not true, he's not leading any team in 5, he's meeting with another team, we see alpha team's leader die right before we go down to fight the first uroboros monster. His name is dechant. All the other deaths we see are the African branch members we never meet. Did you play these games or did you write fanfiction? Chris explicitly works alone in 5 and even tells sheva to fuck off at one point because he doesn't want her to die like Jill.

6 is the only one about Chris losing his team because he blames himself for Finn's death after "Ada" lures them into a trap.

Also Wesker is the leader of STARS, not Chris.

his behavior in 8 is annoying. He just refuses to tell you anything just to keep the player in suspense. There's absolutely no reason for him not to explain what's going on and the payoff doesn't make up for it.
And it's very woefully out of character for Chris and doesn't make any fucking sense. "Yeah I legit just mag-dumped your wife but I'm not going to explain it to you, get the fuck outta here."

Can someone explain the hate people have for RE0? I consistently see people rate it lower than 3make. I understand people don't like the removal of item boxes (I don't either), but I wouldn't say that alone justifies ranking it lower than 3make.
The training facility is just a shitty version of the mansion. The story sucks. All the monsters are just big things of small things. Worst boss fights of the early series. Eliminators and leech men are complete jank.

The inventory system fucking sucks, controlling two players in the jankiest fucking way sucks, it just fucking sucks and is annoying to play. It's a classic example of Capcom shitting something out immediately after hitting something else out of the park right before it, demonstrating that they're either incompetent, lazy, or some gook version of the two, which makes 0 seem even shittier because you know they could have made another classic people look back on fondly and want to play 20+ years later still.

Put it this way. I would rather play the piece of shit Nemesis remake because at least I'm not actively annoyed at the act of playing the game, versus 0 which is aggravating from start to finish.

It's always been a tug of war which was the shittier of Zero and CVX. I hate them both for very different reasons.

I can't help but feel the person who posted these pictures might have some sort of axe to grind. Perhaps they're angry that Mr. Burton didn't go along with their plan and is now trying to smear them.

Wait a second, wasn't there a roll of undeveloped photos of Ms. Chambers in your desk?

I never really understood it either. It's at least a survival horror game unlike pretty much everything that came after(except 7, but that game sucks so who cares). It does lack creativity in enemy design other than the leech-related enemies. I think it's hated more now because there are so many people that started the series with 4 and expected the older entries to be action games. I liken 0 to Silent Hill 4 in that it's flawed but still truer to the spirit of the series than any thing that came after.

ai teammate that either runs into enemies and walls or wastes bullets that you just have to leave in hub rooms along with the really tedious item management where you drop all your items in piles in hub rooms. Also in the game where you have no item box you have an increased focus on crafting resulting in more things taking up your very limited inventory. The leech man is just tedious and again results in always having a molotov on hand because he spawns randomly taking up yet another inventory slot. Enemies can't die on certain frames resulting in hundreads of wasted bullets in a playthrough. Bosses are terrible, not that they're ever a highlight in the classic series but they're especially bad in 0 the final boss is particularly egregious, to do it no damage consistently you need to control both characters simultaneously with one of them being blind since they're off screen.

Also the story is just stupid, Rebecca went through an almost identical copy of RE1's events and then in the SAME NIGHT went through the events of RE1 a few miles away?? It just doesn't make any sense. 0 sucks, the only RE games worse are umbrella corps and REverse.

I'd rather slit my wrists than ever deal with that inventory bullshit again. I was probably 3/4 of the way through the game, realized I'd left an important item many rooms back, and that I'd once again have to go searching for one bit of flickering light in a room full of identical flickering lights.

I closed the game, uninstalled it, and have never touched it again. The most galling part is how unnecessary it all was and how trivially it could've been fixed.

no, not the same night, its the next day, namely the night of the next day, RE0 ends on the morning light killing Marcus/Queen Leech.

dumbly, Rebecca assumed that the Spencer Mansion would be a safe haven, when an idiot would assume Marcus made sure it wasn't, and Billy parted ways and left her to go to the Manse under this pretense, and was never seen again.

It's a really bad idea to split up since it cuts your inventory in half. You have a whopping 12 slots to work with both characters together (more than any classic RE game) which mitigates a lot of these issues. Obviously the game forces you to split up sometimes but it either keeps those sections short or one character is at least in a safe spot while the other progresses.

If you pull up the map, you can scroll through all of the items left on the ground like it was an item box. It will also show where exactly on the floor it is relative to your position.

Zero's position as a prequel did it no favors but it had to be one if you're making a game about Rebecca's story. I always thought it was silly they didn't just kill Billy at the end. I know Rebecca basically reports him as dead via the EX file (if you consider those canon). The missile hitting the area is still a month away but his chances of making it out of the zombie dog infested woods are still slim.

I dunno, call it a weird hill to die on but I think the game is fine for what it is. To bring up SH4 again, I think it's funny it's the one game that didn't get fucked over by the HD collection and went on to get patched and have it's PC port issues fixed to make it arguably the definitive edition.
