How do I get passed the shark once I've drained the water in REmake? After it knocks the key over and I have to get back down off the platform, I keep dying there.

Found this guy trying to mock people who point out the double standards regarding the character design.

I hate these "fans", which are just leftist parasites looking for the next host to infest, so fucking much.

Not only are they some of the most obnoxious faggots around, they are all brazen corporate dicksuckers (despite claiming to be communists) and it is generally pointless to argue with them on anything, since they'll just pretend not to understand the argument.

Really, just proof that there's no point debating liberals, all language is to them is a weapon. Just line them up against a wall and shoot them.

First game was pure soul, had a great setup for a sequel, 2 was.. alright I guess, certainly more scuffed than the first one, still sets up deal with Ruvik in the 3rd, and well, it'll probably never happen.
Sebastian rescued his daughter, took down Mobius and presumably hooked up with Agent Kidman to start a new life.

At least he got the happy ending most horror game protagonists never get.

I found a similar post on the RE subreddit and the top comment is saying that the difference is "men are upset because they wanted to look up Ashley's skirt in the RE4 remake" and other posts claiming it's "not the same".

When people cite Ashley's skirt, I wonder if we played the same game, because it was never anything that was glorified in the original. As a matter of fact, you really can't see anything at all, but apparently it's the most evil thing in the franchise.

The only positive about them making Leon hot is that, unlike women, no man is going to complain about the wish fulfillment/power fantasy that comes with being a jacked 50 year old.

I wonder if it ever dawns on these faggots that if people really wanted to look up Ashley's skirt, there's websites they could go to to find that stuff or mods they could download. If people want nudity they can find it easily on the internet, they don't need to buy a game for it.

Literally the only reason I can imagine this is down to Capcom being more or less the only old-school AAA game dev/publisher that hasn't completely shit the bed in terms of output. Put us 10-15 years back and that sentiment would probably be the opposite. People in this thread might hate the remakes (2, 3 and 4) + RE7, 8 and the upcoming 9, but it can't be overstated just how horrible everyone else is in comparison. A 4-6/10 in 2009 is a 8/10 in 2025, things have gotten that much worse.
Capcom is playing a very retarded game of chicken with its investors. MHW was a huge success at launch but then proceeded to tank horribly and sodomize the series goodwill with fans. I'm now remembering they did actually make a good game more recent than DMVC which was Kunitsu Gami. But as I predicted it didn't meet capcom's insane sale expectations because it's not a third person action game. The constant overreliance on that has crept into Pragmata and as a result you have both mediocre action and puzzles because the game expects you to do both at once. If that game lasts more than 4-5 hours then it's going to get very tiresome quickly. Refusing to make Exoprimal free to play was also a terrible decision as the game was practically designed around that model. Nobody talks about all of the dogshit mutliplayer RE games we keep getting every year either because they were forgettable and technically didn't cost anything. Since requiem apparently doesn't come with any maybe capcom finally got the fucking message as far as that's concerned.

He wasn't the director of EW2... He stepped down to producer for that, Ghostwire and hi-fi rush. If he was directing a game before leaving tango we know nothing about it.
I remember Mikami saying in an interview that he still had a large influence over EW2 even though he wasn't the director. This makes sense as it's common for senior staff to have more influence despite their position. Tokuro Fujiwara was largely making the creative decisions during the original RE and he was a producer for that game as well.

At this point the only thing I'm looking forward to this year by capcom is Pragmata and maybe Onimusha (depends on how well they ape Sekiro's formula). I liked the demo for Pragmata but again I get the feeling it won't hit whatever idiotic sales goals capcom's investors are expecting.

I've played the Pragmata demo and found it pretty fun. Granted, the game only really threw softballs your way, the enemy count was never high enough to get you panicking, but I imagine the difficulty will increase over the course of the game, or there are higher difficulties to pick from.

I tend to view it as another take on Dead Space - you're disincentivized to do the usual shooting thing. In DS the gimmick was shooting off the limbs instead of aiming for central mass or the head, while here instead of directing whether the gun will be firing a horizontal or vertical beam and picking which bit to lop off, it requires you to solve a "puzzle," but also seek ways to stack buff/debuffs via said mechanic.

I do agree that it could get tedious, but I must assume Capcom has put some effort into making the core mechanic engaging.

I get the feeling it won't hit whatever idiotic sales goals capcom's investors are expecting.
That's a given. Capcom are still learning the same lesson SE learned the hard way. They're slower at understanding their sale expectations are retarded because they have a few reliable cashcows that make them bank.

Based Claire Redfield in Code Veronica Before Crapcom started making games for the modern audience :story:

So according to Shillup this is allegedly in the 15-20 hour range which I think makes it the longest Resident Evil game.
Depends entirely on what is included in those 20-ish hours. Is it just the main story? Is it the main story + some side content? Is it a 100% run?

I'm going to assume he means it will take the average person between 15 to 20 hours to complete the game, which includes finishing the main story and some percentage of side content.

RE4 and RE4R both hit 16 if you solely focus on the main story, 20+ hours for a normal playthorugh, and 30+ hours for a completionist playthrough.

If the split is even between Leon and whatshername, then we're looking at a 7 to 10 hour campaign for each character, which is just about how long it would take you to complete a single scenario in RE2R.

If it's just the main story, then it may tie, or be slightly longer, than RE4R.

One of my favourite games is Alien Isolation, and though the length earnt it some complaints, I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth unless I can get 15h+ of gameplay out of it.
RE4make I was able to get 20+ hours out of. I was exploring every book and cranny which might've inflated the playtime somewhat.

The potential worry (or boon) here is that Grace and Leon might be largely based in the same exact environment, just in different states of disrepair or something. If you liked the PD from RE2/RE2make but larger, I think that's going to be the sort of gimmick for the game, which is interesting conceptually, but some people might find exploring or going through the same environment a little boring. Not an issue for me though.

(Played Alien Isolation on PC for first time last year after playing it avidly on console. I played it pirated on PC but then bought it on steam.)

I personally thought Isolation was too long. It felt like they padded it out unnecessarily.

Mind you, I love the game, but it starts to drag after a certain point.

The same can be said of RE4, especially with the island section. It's very obvious that most of the time was spent polishing the village portion, with the castle and island parts being an afterthought and mostly carried by the tight gameplay.

I assume we'll not just be playing in the hospital (?), and maybe the two protagonists will explore different locales in the second half?

There's also the possibility they'll be exploring different parts of the hospital altogether, only briefly crossing paths, or maybe it's a RE2 situation where it depends who you pick to play first as, though I don't think that will be the case here, since it's obvious that the game starts with Grace and Leon only arrives to the hospital later (unless they have different prologues too).

But yes, it's a valid concern.
