I've played through the intro and into the other part and it seems fun. The part where you play Leon for the first time was pretty cool.

Okay so I folded and bought it because I buy every Resident Evil.
I'm at the point your at Gideon's FUntime Hospital, the very start of the game, intro review here.

It runs very well for an RE Engine game, they likely got very embarrassed with how badly their engine has performed recently and really beat the backs of their tech nerds.
Its a good mix of 7/8+4, obviously, since that's the entire point of the dual protags, so far Leon has never performed better in his RE4 stylings of combat, and they clearly put more effort into his part of the game than Grace's, while I like the more horror elements from Graces part, Leon's part is just more fun, its just how it is.

The main villain is kind of hilariously rough edged in his execution, this is real slop job work for him, just waltzing down Not-New York with a women on his shoulder, clearly abducting her, also appearing as the most alarming man to ever exist, grey fucked up skin, in a giant snakeskin coat with a insane helmet-mask on appearing at least 7 feet tall, in a world where everyone knows about B.O.W.'s, and it takes quite a bit before anyone is even remotely alarmed by this, and from his perspective he just nabbed his prize target (after I guess lollygagging for 8 years despite Grace's wereabouts being easily findable) and suddenly there's the B.O.W. Grim Reaper himself, Leon, just in the street, I would shit a brick.

Well one thing I can definitely complain about is that this has the Fromsoftware grabs from RE4make where a zombie will lunge at you from like four feet away and it will just smash cut to you getting gored because the hitboxes are so fucking massive.

I'm enjoying it so far although I'm only part way through the first big Grace section.
I know I will be lynched over this, but I liked the RE7 and 8 style of gameplay, and Grace is more of that. I hope it's not a question of 'first 2 hours are where we put all the effort and the rest is shit' though.

it'd be a lot faster if we called capcom faggot shit and moved on while people get their time in requiem to actually talk about it,
regardless I'm waiting like a year before I even consider playing it, just waiting for first impressions from here and a few places.

sphere hunter is getting his capcom sponsored RE cosplay thumbnail as I type this.
Notice how you keep his cock in your mouth? Very faggoted behavior.

RE ENGINE has not once performed badly in a Resident Evil game. The poor performance was always from open world games. Since RE9 isn't open world, anyone who thought it would perform badly wasn't paying attention. The engine can't handle open world games. That's ultimately all.

Also playing it myself, just got to Raccoon City. Bosses so far have been lovely too. Beat the chef as Grace and both Chunks as well in the hospital (you need 3 hemolytic injectors to beat him as Grace). Hag's boss is the most fun part of Grace's boss fights though, the others just boil down to injecting blow uppie juice from behind. They brought back giant spiders as well as the first boss of Raccoon City. Only problem I have had is they hid mouse sensitivity inside the camera menus for each player and the default turn speed is ass. Leon has a few good jokes here and there as well. Not quite RE4 OG, but definitely not bad.

I thought sucking cock was a requirement for being a resident evil fan?
It is, but pretending you don't like cock while actively sucking it is even more faggoted than just admitting you like it.
Also. Apparently Tofu is also cannon?

Sorry to say, but the game isn't very good. Unless you're absolutely obsessed with the franchise and you loved 7&8, please don't be a dummy and pay full price like I did. Way too many cat & mouse sequences, Leon chapters feel like padding - seriously, whoever approved that Raccoon City segment where you're trying to find detonator pieces should be out of a job, orphanage flashback also felt really wonky and would have worked just as well as a cutscene.

Just got done watching someone play it, and he gave it a 5/10. The first half is solid, but the Raccoon City half just got padded out, and the minute human enemies showed up feels like the writers ran out of ideas.

But then again the writing for the story was done by Harris Okrin, who did the shit ass Shadow of Rose DLC

“Victor Gideon, I’m breaking up with you!”
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.
“Victor, this is visa. You owe us -“
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.

“Excuse me, can I work in your clinic?”
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.

“Pizza here. Hot and ready!”
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.

“Don’t choke me, bro.”
>vaguely talks for ten minutes about nothing. Chokes.

he just really likes choking fuckers out, ya gotta get give it to him, he did it to Leon like it was nothing.

So I managed to get to the RPD

Grace isn't a bad character, in fact, her reactions are fairly reasonable for the situation. She also has a really cool gimmick of she is NOT equipped for the situation so you need to pick your target priorities.

There's generally multiple ways to deal with an enemy through different paths, distraction tools, and even a new item that can stealth kill enemies.

So zombies are back, groovy. They retain some sorta traits from when they were alive, like security guard zombie can pull the trigger on his gun, zombie maids still cleaning. Kinda fun.

There's a mini boss that's just Ethan Ralph.

Leon is over powered to an extent, when dealing with the shit that Grace has to handle, he's stomping skulls, but in his own unique sections, you're more RE4, you're equipped to handle the challenges, but don't fuck around.

Without spoiling, this game is gonna be the one that people bicker over.
