if Grace didn't have a variant of the modern day progressive karen hair style she'd be perfect. 9/10 otherwise, because her voice actress nails the physical and vocal mannerisms of an autistic (and semi-ADHD) nerd perfectly, and she has great range.

game's okay so far. i feel like i'll have better to say after a few replays.

Whoever Grace’s VA is, deserves whatever award she gets. She nailed down the fear in her voice, the confusion and nervousness, everything. It was shockingly really good.

I've only ever played RE4 (the original) but I know enough to get by with regards to story. it looks fun, and it'd be nice to play a RE unspoiled for a change. Is it worth a buy?

Just finished the game and overall it was very good. I don't think I have any complaints about the Grace sections, they were very good and a great blend of action and horror. I do have some criticisms for the Leon sections though, while using the axe was fun and I enjoyed playing as him again the combat was very jittering for me during his sections and not as good or smooth as RE4 remake or even RE2 remake. And the vendor too was an inferior version of the RE4 merchant.

I enjoyed the motorcycle segment, it was the right type of wacky and absurd imo. Too many memberberry segments though. I liked the Mr X return and it did make sense but having the final boss stage just be the RE3 remake nemesis rehash sucked and wasn't difficult at all. It sucked how short the Leon segments at the start were and the orphanage segment was very meh. I liked the inclusion of the spider. It really sucks how HUNK went out I killed the fucker in less than a minute.

The scene after Emily mutated was hilarious. Grace was freaking the fuck out while this mutant-fetus looking thing was about to kill her and crashed out on Leon for saving her life, at least there was a happy ending for her :)

Grace's VA is great but I hate Grace as a character so far, not sure if she gets any better to show growth yet. And there's way too much ambient panting and yelping from her. Love Leon's skullcrushing and how viscerally splatterpunk the game is, but Grace's segments have overstayed their welcome a hair too long. Would like some cooler puzzles and I hated the sub-basement section. The blood crafting mechanic is a nice addition and there's some genuinely good horror moments that got a reaction out of me.

The writing is kinda meh and suffers from the Japanese trait of everything being too obvious for clarity, but I don't expect much from RE on that regard and they kinda shoehorned themselves on setting for the nostalgia factor. Prerendered cutscenes look very nice though. So far I'm sittting at a 7ish out of 10 several hours in unless something changes dramatically.

Game started as a 9/10 but that score dipped the longer I played it. Decided to call it for the day after getting all 3 bomb parts.

Grace's section started out strong and I'm glad there's no true stalker enemy but holy shit the amount of slinking around and waiting is absolutely tedious. I know it's my fault because I didn't want to shoot as few things as possible unless I was sure I wouldn't have to backtrack but God damn. A quarter of my time was just sniffing ass and waiting for the big bad enemy to fuck off. I'll have a real rating on this part of the game after a second play through.

Whoever designed the first part of Raccoon City should be dragged behind a shed and shot. There's entire set pieces that are just not fun and kill the groove of the entire thing.

Gameplay is probably a 7/10, ignoring the ass sniffing from Grace. Nothing amazing but not bad. I can't seem to get the melee parry down on Leon but I can't tell if it's a skill issue or the hit boxes are just weird on some enemies. I'd block at about the same distance for the same animation and get different results.

“Victor Gideon, I’m breaking up with you!”
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.
“Victor, this is visa. You owe us -“
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.

“Excuse me, can I work in your clinic?”
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.

“Pizza here. Hot and ready!”
>chokes till they pass out, walk away.

“Don’t choke me, bro.”
>vaguely talks for ten minutes about nothing. Chokes.
Victor is a simple snake. He sees something he wants, he chokes it till it passes out, then walks away.

It runs very well for an RE Engine game
I haven't played RE4make on PC but in my experience with the other titles every RE engine game that is an actual RE title has run well, it's them trying to use it for shit like Monster Hunter and Dragon's Dogma, genres it wasn't built for at all, where the engine seems to shit itself.

I don't have much time to play for a couple weeks so I'll probably hold off buying it until payday a couple weeks from now. Hearing positive things though, despite all the bitching. Hope this game gets a good Raid or Mercenaries mode DLC because the combat looks really fun.
If Leon doesnt go "Damm this resident do be really evil" then the game is dogshit.
"Guess it's time for this Evil Resident's Requiem..."

AHHHH IT'S SO FUCKING FUN TO PLAY AS LEON, STOP MAKING ME PLAY AS GRACE AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Capcom just needs to hold off on fucking up for one cycle so I can get a high action modern Chris game, I want to punch.

fuckers just don't die. you can't shoot them to death, don't even try unless you are using the Magnum or Bolt Action. anything else is a massive waste. it feels so fucked if you encounter one as Grace.
The one at the bottom of the staircase leading up to Gideons office can be avoided, I think I only ended up killing two of them as Grace.

I'm enjoying it but the orphanage section is a pace killer, Leon's hair still makes me wanna die, Grace is both good and awful (I like the whole scared protagonist who gets panic attacks but my god, someone says hello to her and she freaks out. I wouldn't believe for a second that she's an FBI agent). I've gotten to the RPD and there's stuff I like but I'm so sick of the whole 'member this????' that I'm teetering between enjoying the little memberberries and finding them unabarably cringe. I could do without the flashbacks.

This game can’t commit to being anything.
Great ideas and the zombies have the most personality and charm ever in an RE entry, but this whiplash between RE4 and RE7 tones ruins a lot of it for me.
