This has been what I’ve seen from playthroughs too. It seems the RE series as a whole just doesn’t know what to do with itself. I was disappointed by RE8 so much I haven’t even bothered with RE9. A and B series with the zapping system needs to make a return. Who ever is in charge needs to be locked in a room with RE1 and RE2 for a few weeks just to get an idea of what the series is as a whole. Balancing between RE7 and RE4 remake just feels like such a head twist on top of trying to make RE more an action shooter. Not played the game myself but from what i have seen, It seems it wants to be RE7, 8 and RE4 remake all at the same time but dont commit to either of the playstyle.
They either should have stick to one or the other or just made a scenario A and B.
It was the most Resident Evil like part of the gameThe care centre was the best part of RE9, followed by the basement
I wouldn't even make a distinction to any part of it than say the whole location was fucking boring. All the zombies look exactly the same in that section and for whatever reason are using fucking weapons.Racoon City is dull
The RE engine is a dogshit engine. Especially on PC. I made the mistake of telling my brother to get me Monster Hunter Wilds for my birthday and all that game did was piss me off and remind me most modern game engines are fucking terrible. If you don't set certain settings to low or lowest you'll get fucky framerates no matter what you're running and the games seem to pick and choose when that happens with no clear reason.Has anyone experienced really bad stuttering and frame drops while playing as Leon? As Grace I have no problems but whenever playing his sections it's constant during combat and really fucks it up for me. It's already worse than any of the remakes so this makes playing as him a pain in the ass and not fun at all. I don't see the game being as repayable as the others.
I managed to find a solution, setting mesh quality to low seemed to fix it for me.The RE engine is a dogshit engine. Especially on PC. Those capcom faggots need to make another Chris game so he can finally bang his ebony GodessThis has been what I’ve seen from playthroughs too. Honestly just abandon the current structure and stories and characters. Series need a reset or a major character killed at least.
I like that resources are tight at first, but eventually shit snowballs and you can kill everything, which I mean, that is very much Resident Evil in a nutshell.I'm just on Grace's 2nd section (where you meet the blind girl) and I'm impressed. Playing on the Standard Classic Difficulty and cursing myself for not clearing my inventory entirely! They listened to my biggest complaint that I had with RE7 (generic mold monsters are boring). I just love these Zombies!
I'm really impressed by what done here.
Data miners found out you need to get the doll from the cell next to Emily's and have her with you, then do the Sun, moon and star puzzle. Only issue is that you can't pick up the doll.So no one can figure out what the final puzzle challenge is. I did the severed hand thing earlier with a guide, but no one knows what to do to unlock it.
Who said that's where you get the doll? The issue is we don't actually know the full puzzle yet. The solution clearly involves Emily and Marie, but considering how few encounters you have with them throughout the game, I'd say there's pieces missing still. We know that the blocks in room 202 and the Orphanage are the chemical CN-16 which is for film. We also know after inputting the code initially we hear the marionettes from the Orphanage laugh through the loudspeaker above you. We also know of a growl from Marie that occurs the first time you go down the second floor of the staircase locked behind the kitchen (as opposed to the one by the dining room.) We know that Marie has at least 2 dolls you can examine, one with her name in the basement and one without it in the cells. We know there's an M in the painting at the end, We also know that the chapters of the game have certain letters fade last on Grace. We know the code is an RNA sequence with 5 chemicals with the first letter of each spelling GLITCH, and that the chemical name for each is shortened to GKITCH. We know of a barcode that when scanned reveals the numbers for one of the Outbreak casts' birthdates but also the word Itsy when translated to numbers. (number is 09201925) We also know the blue paint next to the bobblehead in Raccoon City's intro refers to the giant spider which audibly creepily moves about when you first enter the room. We know the rna sequence has 3 numbers which corrospond to the distances between the sun, moon and alpha centari and the earth. We know that there's a creepy carboard cutout of a mom and baby in room 202 in the intro hotel. We know that the mannequins who chase you in the orphanage implement a morse code on bed when you hide from them. We know so many things in this game come in pairs or 3s. We know the sweet pair refers to 2 little girls because of the various translations using cultural phrases common for properly behaving children, specifically girls. We know Marie says the line "Let's Play" before her hand gets cut off in the elevator and that the hand also says this. We know it's possible to keep Marie from all sources of light without attacking her once and without killing any optional enemies (but that this doesn't seem to trigger anything). And finally. We know for a fact that it has nothing to do with the singers and people who talk about them should become an hero for dragging on and on about it.Data miners find out you need to get the doll from the cell next to Emily's and have her with you, then do the Sun, moon and star puzzle. Only issue, is that you can't pick up the doll.
IIRC the Tyrants are all clones based off one Russian dude's DNA, so yeah, cloning is old, old tech as far as Umbrella is concerned. That's actually kinda great. "Let's bring back the clone dumbasses from that one game everyone hated and kill them off"
I could see Capcom faking us out with clones. It was kinda in the movies
Also props to Keith for still being a hunk voice since 2007.
I'm sorry you find a chainsaw duel in a crowded basement lame and boring instead of being properly GROOVY.Resident evil 7 botched the tone. The Baker family are constantly chewing the scenery and the game feels like an even goofier version of Outlast. Anyone who says RE7 is a return to the series' roots is wrong.
Resident evil was always campy horror. While less intentional in the originals they were very cheesy and Silent Hill always blew them out of the water in terms of atmosphere. Code Veronica was when they started leaning into sillier characters and villains and 4 made that its trademark. The series has always been a bit goofy.Resident evil 7 botched the tone. COMPLETE. GLOBAL. SATURATION.Resident evil was always campy horror. Not CV having a crossdressing falsetto who wants to fuck his sister, or 4 having self aware jokes? Or Jake boxing a tyrant? Or leon dodging lasers...COMPLETE. GLOBAL. SATURATION.
Like come on, RE7 botched the tone but not Chris punching a boulder while fighting a lava-immersed tentacle Wesker inside an active volcano?
